I have always said that eventually Dabo and our coaching staff will become victims of their own success. This past weekend is an example. Folks there is only ONE Alabama in college football and it's ALABAMA ! We are NOT ( as a program) on the level of Alabama. Neither is Georgia or anyone else. Of course we can beat Alabama on a given day ( as we have) and so can Georgia and a few others. The idea however that we are going to beat good teams every time is unrealistic. We are the " Alabama of the ACC " no doubt. If Georgia and Clemson played 10 times I dare say it would be 5-5 or 4-6. With Alabama it would likely be 3-7 0r 2-8. I remember a time when 7-4 would be celebrated. Today it would mean wholesale firings. I realize some will call me a coot but dare I say at some point the coots will actually beat us again ! Oh hush HERESY !! Get a grip folks it's still a GAME !! If losing a game ruins your week you need counseling !

What's all the Bama love? We have met in the playoff 4 times. 2 wins and 2 losses. Clemson blew out Alabama 44–16 the last time we met in the 2019 NC game.

When I went to Clemson games at a very young age, we didn't win many. I remember Georgia, Alabama, and Texas A&M blowing us out. The coots even blew us out in 1975.
I watched Nebraska, Oklahoma, Alabama, Norte Dame, USC (the real) , and teams like that rule. We became relevant in 1977. Danny took over when Pell went to Florida and brought us much success. But I never imagined the success that we have had in recent years. I'm just thankful that I lived to see it. We will get better offensively. We may not win it all this year. But I do think Dabo will get us back in the championship game within a few years and bring home another one. Go Tigers

Re: Spoiled Fans. In all honesty I am not one of those spoiled fans. I don't always wear orange on Friday before a game ,or have orange colored sunglasses ,nor do I predict blow out wins when the point spread is -3.5.
And I realize that we are not ALABAMA, or even a team like Notre Dame that can dictate terms on joining a conference because that conference allows for some easy picking schedules.
I also agree with you that because of our takes on certain issues we will be labeled "coots". In fact I have probably been labeled that more times than Georgia has beaten us overall ,or ALABAMA going 7-4.
But at the risk of being called something even worse I'd like to use another team to make a comparison. I am a life long Dallas Cowboy fan( since day 1 1960) and today I turn 71.I an not a band wagon jumping fan when it comes to my teams.
But I use the Cowboys as an example in that on several occasions I have turned into watch a game and it looks like the team never got off the bus; ie they just didn't show up.
Now maybe the other team had something to do about that, but last Saturday night it looked as if the defensive team got off the bus ,but the offensive team did not.
And that is what irritates me the most. I don't mind the loss in as much as it looked like we just didn't prepare for what Georgia brought to the table. Our offense just didn't show up.

Reasonable fans just want the team to perform to its potential against good teams. If you lose to a better team well, sometimes you get the bear sometimes the bear gets you. I don’t think anyone is arguing that our offense performed anywhere near what they are capable of and that’s where I’m disappointed. I’ve been going to Clemson games since I was 3, so no I’m not jumping off of any bandwagons or bad mouthing any players. We aren’t talking about a Bowden or Hatfield team the standard is different now, I just want to see improvement. This offense seemed ill-prepared with a poorly conceived plan; that’s not acceptable when best is the standard.

that has top 10 recruiting classes every year to field an offensive line that can allow the qb 3 seconds to scan the field to make a throw or gain more than 2 yards in an entire game with out talent in the backfield

It is despicable the way some of our fans acted. Be proud to have such an elite team and elite coaching staff who are also great people and represent Clemson extremely well. You know how many teams would kill to have Tony Elliott? Probably all of them who don't have an offense run by Ryan Day or Lincoln Riley. They'd all kill for Dabo. Even Bama wants him to be Saban's successor. 6 straight ACC titles. 10 straight double digit win seasons and 2 nattys in the last 5 years. That's all.
