If he had a torn ACL, they wouldn't have predicted that he would he start.

Pretty sure that was a shot by swimmer. Some said DW had a torn ACL. Totally fabricated.

Guess I interrupt things differently than you (and perhaps most people). To me this says essentially the same thing as Dabo said today. I'm not a TCI apologist but i just don't believe this is anywhere near the same magnitude as the ACL thing. Frankly the update today, to me, say TCI was correct.

For the record, as soon as I heard it was an LCL I fully expected DW to play against SC. I guess we'll find out how good a "fortune teller" I am.

I expected DW to play as well when I heard LCL. Especially since it wasn't a grade 3 sprain.

But I'm just giving TCI a hard time. I'm sure they try their best. It's pretty easy to make fun of them though.

What they reported at the time was what the coaches believed. I spoke to one of them who I know and trust. Blast them for that if you want, but they were reporting the best information available.

The way TCI presented was absolute garbage.

Tigerillustrated, David Hood all had the same information. All of them held off stating it was an ACL tear. TCI apologized for it so they know the screwed up!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that they prefaced the report by saying that an MRI would be needed to confirm the belief.

The coaches, several of whom I am friends with,

thought the same thing at the time. Whether they should have reported it is certainly up for debate. Regardless, that was the best information at the time.

TCI were the only organization to state it as fact.

The forgot to add the disclaimer that a MRI had to be conducted to confirm.

I have no ties to TCI so don't have a dog in the fight, however I do think that they qualified their report saying that an MRI would be necessary to confirm the suspicion. I may be wrong on this, but I don't think so.

Then what is your problem. I heard from them exactly what I heard from the coaches. Is that not what you want to hear from a news source?

Their information was as good as anyone had, but fortunately it was wrong.

As a fan, I want to know what the insiders know as soon as they know it.

Not sure what your problem with those folks is.

I don't want to hear everything! What is wrong with you .

Two weeks ago Robert makes a post that he has information that Deon Cain may or may not visit Florida that week?

WHAT THE HECK IS THAT!?

That is spreading rumors and gossip and hurting Clemson recruiting.

There was absolutley no need to put that information out. And Deon Cain never visited UF!

To be honest, that's when I lost all respect for Robert.

Re: We all understand that part. Many "believed" it was ACL

I'm starting to think you're an idiot. Why would you report a commit MAY or MAY NOT visit another school? What good does that do? You get CONFIRMATION first. They say they do nothing to hurt Clemson, but STARTING rumors is harmful to Clemson. You don't report everything a source says They do a TERRIBLE job deciding what to report.

If David Hood did the same garbage he would get castrated here.

I have to agree with tiger in this argument

Nov 24, 2014, 12:33 AM [ in reply to Re: We all understand that part. Many "believed" it was ACL ]

I do think TCI has good articles for us Clemson fans but they have put out alot of stuff that wasnt true over the years. I don't want to go through everything but to me it just seems like they want to be the first to report breaking news. With the Watson situation, sure everyone including the coaches thought it was an ACL tear but no one knew for sure. TCI went ahead and reported that Watson had a torn ACL before he got an MRI. I know TCI source or sources are reliable. What their source probably told them imo was something along the lines "we don't for sure but it definitely looks like a torn ACL". Like i said, they just seem to want to be the first to report breaking news without knowing 100% that its true.

It's irresponsible journalism and they do it a lot. They are wrong a ton and do not give a shiy about accuracy or Clemson. They care about page clicks and that is it. Whatever BS they can hastily throw up on site they do.
