Some notes on Green and his commitment

Jun 22, 2022, 8:06 PM

Had a coach tell me, regarding Green, to pay zero attention to stars or rankings. That they had vetted him and "this kid is the real deal. There is a reason Bama and Ohio St. and the others were all over him."

So I called his high school coach and he said the same thing - said Green will likely be about 305 at Clemson, and while he has weight room strength, he also has "superhuman strength" when he gets on the football field. The coach said they don't attend a lot of combines and camps, and Green is undervalued by the recruiting sites.

He said Clemson won out because there is just a genuine feel when you walk on campus. Story to come.

If these commits aren’t chasing money then Clemson is the right place for them!!!

Some of the other schools seem to be underestimating the intelligence and character of these young men. Not all are out there just to grab $$$. They want to learn--both in the classroom and on the field--and have support from people who genuinely care about them. They see through the phonies.

Have you seen the comments people make here? Seems most people are underestimating the intelligence and character of these young men.

we heard the same thing about Ajou Ajou. Hoping it works out.

Except this kid is already a Composite 4 Star

So you're comparing apples and Oranges . Ajou was a project that I still hope does good at USF

Bussie would not be recruited by our current coaching staff. When you say he was a “bad” man, that is a pretty accurate and literal description. I have this directly from a member of the strength coaching staff from that era. Bussie was a truly scary individual.

... just a real blight on Clemson’s image.

We used to have a fair percentage of guys like this on our team. It was thought that you had to take the good with the bad in order to win.

So glad that we got Dabo and proved the fallacy of that sort of thinking.

Absolutely no one said anything close to that about him, he was a low end project from day one with tons of physical gifts… take a lap.

That was the whole key right there. He has all the tools and measurables. Just wasn't able or willing to take that next step to be great.

He was relatively new to football and everyone understood their would be a learning curve. If you can't understand the difference, then I won't waste the time explaining.

Ajou Ajou is very gifted athletically. His problem is all upstairs. We’ve had a few of those guys come through. If Ajou Ajou decides to take this game seriously he could be a force to be reckoned with. Hope he finds his way at South Florida

Man that is so awesome to hear. If he can feel it then others can too. This class is going to be special. I think the program has been re-energized by missing the playoffs and are on a mission to right this ship. The best is yet to come !

I don’t even think it was missing the playoffs, cocos killed our recruiting and how we donor…. We made a couple minor adjustments, and are picking up where we left off in 2020, before covid hit.

You talked to Coach Reid best in the state of Georgia. I have been to plenty of Rome High games and swore he would be a 5* when I watched him as a sophomore. So glad we got him
