Excuse the terrible formatting (C&P), but...
Schuessler Grad Leggett Grad Guillermo Grad Watkins Grad Boulware Grad Johnson Grad Tankersley Grad Teasdall Grad Watson NFL Gallman NFL Scott NFL Williams NFL Dye Transfer Fruhmorgen Transfer
That's 14. Anyone I'm missing?

awarded that could be given out if we needed another spot or two. That is a bit dirty, depending on how you look at it.
One of the arguements against 4 year scholarships is that it would prevent awarding of walk ons with scholarship for a year.

the dandy dozen class cycles around every 4 years. seems like the staff is totally focused on the 18's especially with this weekend coming up. next year's class has the potential to be our best ever. just landing a few of the guys coming in this weekend would be amazing

Yeah, as other posters below mentioned, the real reason our classes are so small is simply because we recruiter fewer guys than any school except maybe Stanford and I suspect we might have them beat. We only have 10 juniors - rising seniors - on the roster next year. That number will be added to by the usual group of early NFL entries - probably 3-4 again, I'd call Deon Cain, Christian Wilkins, and maybe Clelin Ferrel possibilities, plus the usual number of lesser-known guys who quietly graduate and move along, but we're still talking maybe 15 guys max. Not going to be a huge group, again. It's got the potential of being a stupidly elite 15 or so guys, but it certainly isn't going to be the usual milling herd of prospects where a team replaces a third of its roster seemingly every year.
Our attrition is ridiculously low. Our kids graduate. When you're losing vastly more kids to the NFL early than you are to attrition, you're not just doing something right, you're doing a whole lot of things right. It means you're evaluating correctly, your guys are developing to their potential and producing almost across the board, and oh yeah, they're keeping their noses clean off the field and getting their degrees.

I am pretty sure at 13, Dabo said we only had one slot left. I don't exactly understand why we keep having such small classes when other schools are handing out schollies like candy. And I'm talking about OTHER schools that also have high academic standards and grad rates.

Because they cut scholarship players who don't work out, while Dabo doesn't?

To address the question; yes we are done for 2017. This class is small because of few transfers out from all potential reasons. Players largely stay at Clemson! That speaks well of the university. While other schools seem to sign big groups I would suggest digging into why.
We will have one more small class then we get a large one in two years unless lots go early to the NFL in 2018. Then matters might change.
Go Tigers!

some people are so concerned by the small classes (not u, I get what you're saying). take this year for example. only 14 out of the 85 guys that won it all have to be replaced. not only that but the they're being replaced mostly with guys who are higher rated coming out of hs than they were! not to say Johnson is gonna be better than deshaun (probably nobody will be any time soon) but he's the highest rated qb we've ever signed. until next year, that is.... lol

Trust the coaches, they know what they are doing. As mentioned Clemson treats athletes somewhat different from the majority of other places. This reduces attrition. We have very few that leave the program and fewer that have to be dismissed for whatever reason. This bodes well for the character of the athlete being recruited by our staff.

Don't walk-ons who receive scholarships realize they might

... realize that they might have them taken after one year if the scholarship is needed to "over sign" a great recruit?

Dabo doesn't hand out scholarships to walk-ons

just because he had some extra in his pocket. They earn it because Dabo decides that kid is worth a scholarship. Dabo has rarely (none that I recall) taken a scholarship from a kid that earned it and is still actively trying to play.

True, but I watched the video where he gave a scholarship to Renfrow and Teasdale and as he gave it to each, and shook hands, hugged, he said "now this is just for one year, so you will have to EARN it next year, too."
So, while I doubt he would take one away, he reserves the right to do so if a kid doesn't live up to his end of the bargain.
