I tune into TNET tonight to see if we landed another 5-star and I see this article?
No one cares. No one is being exploited. $500 is plenty, and more than enough. NFL players are paid more by Madden because they are professionals. There are 32 teams of 52 players. Are you wanting 80 amateurs from 130+ teams to be paid the same for a game that historically sold less than Madden? How would the game make any money? Do you think they would make it on the kindness of their hearts? For charity? They are giving away over $5 million for this!
Those rosters are 100% customizable. I do not need any of their names, images or likenesses in the final product. I’ll just download edited rosters. There are fans still updating rosters and sharing them online for the ten year old game. The fact they’re offering money is a testament they’re actually trying. If I was in charge of this game, I would have every player start as player 00, with 0 attributes at 4’11, 400 pounds. Find your likeness in there! The community will make the rosters and they will enjoy that.
For the year you were a starter, I would have lowered your attributes, raised your back-ups’,and put you as second on the depth. Maybe even third! I’m not playing games here. You were probably 12 when this game stop being made, and you have no idea how long some of us late-20s and 30-somethings have waited for a chance at this game on new console, next gen.
I created myself or various players in those games every year since I was 8 years old. I do not need anyone’s likeness. Be happy.
As a matter of fact, I’ll create a team named the Justin Falcinellis and name every person on the team Justin Falcinelli and have them look just like you.
I do appreciate the effort as a player, but not as a negotiator. Step aside, go!

There’s nothing wrong with video games. I still enjoy them. Obviously I do not have near as much time as I did ten years ago. But a great way to relax and get your mind off the real world.
Those games were a blast because it combined two of my favorite things.

What's kinda weird is I played for a smaller school D-1aa back in the day and got a check when NCAA football was taken away. Got like 360 bucks. Find it kinda odd players today thar are much more well known (hell, known at all lol) are getting 500. Figured it would be more. I still don't like the complaining though. I never complained and was happy to be there. Cost me a bunch of injuries but I got to fulfill a dream of mine and got to play in some cool stadiums too.

So is this not the players choice to say I don’t want the 500 just leave me out. There’s no union (coming next) so it can’t be a collective thing.

Here is a thought. Let the players decide if the amount is sufficient then they can opt in or out. It’s really none of our business and it’s certainly not up to you to decide if the amount is sufficient
