Earlier this year we got comfortable in that “he’s not as bad as last year”. I think it was largely mental for DJ last year and the giddy ups are now back in his head so buckle up!!

Seems DJ’s confidence is brittle…subject to fading….not strong. Fans have been on pins and needles all season. Hope he pulls it together. Going to NotreoverratedDame is a big challenge if one’s self confidence is touchy. And I am not sure Cade is a great answer actually.

Maybe setting the single game passing record by a visiting team QB a couple of years ago might help calm his nerves.

Hope that is the case! Do we have a sports psychologist on staff? Golfers often employ them since golf is a game of confidence. There could be some correlation between the sports…particularly the qb position.

I will admit that DJ had a really bad game yesterday, but he has been playing well till now. Did you not watch our other games?

I get that the QB spot is different.... but any other player has a bad day, the next guy comes in.
Miller gets a couple of penalties at RT, the next guy comes in. Simpson and the LBs have not been playing up to the standard the last couple of games. Our DBs got destroyed against Wake. Our DL hasn't been holding the point of attack and playing with gap discipline like a DL with 5 future NFL draft picks. Shipley put the ball on the ground. Our WR miss blocks occasionally and Dabo pulls them. Ngata got pulled after that stupid unsportsmanlike penalty.
DJU had a bad game. If he corrects his mistakes and has two great weeks of practice, he will run out there at ND. Don't forget what this young man is capable of. He has thrown for the most passing yards of any QB in the history of college football games played at ND.
Yesterday, he was off, and the two picks were examples of how off he was. It happens to everyone on the team, it is just magnified and it does come with the position. DJU will be fine and will lead us to the CFP. Cade played well, but lets slow down a bit saying he is the answer.
The coaches know what they are doing. Let them do their job, and lets support this team regardless.

He’s had moments of brilliance and moments that leave me scratching my head but overall I’m happy with what I’ve seen this year. A lot more good than bad so far. One bad game isn’t enough for me to say the giddy ups are back in his head and Klubnik really didn’t show anything yesterday that would suggest he’s ready to take DJ’s job.

We'll get to see if he rebounds at Notre Dame. They have 2 weeks to build his confidence in practice and review tape.

And you are a sorry fan. Where were all your words of wisdom BEFORE the game? Everyone has a bad day now and then. I’ll bet you have made mistakes before though I doubt you would admit to it.
It is not wise to cast stones at others while you yourself live in a glass house. You can believe whatever you want but don’t disparage our players on a public forum that many of them read. Even Dabo has stated he knows what is posted on Tnet. Please use discretion.

He is not a very bad quarterback either, but he probably is not the quarterback that can carry Clemson to a
National Title or win the Heisman. Yesterday was a bad day, a really bad day that Clemson should have lost ,but we had Cade and we might need him again down the stretch ,but Dabo will not bench DJ permanently after 1 bad half.
Upsetting no, just an opinion.

Cade went 2-4 and very nearly threw a pick six. HHe didn’t singlehandedly win the game. He just didn’t lose it.

I know that this may upset you but since I don’t care here goes: You are a crappy fan, you are not the coach, DJ had a bad day today but only today, Cade will be very good in the future but take your blinders off and look at a few throws Cade made because one should have been a pick 6 and one was high and late and almost got our player killed. Your obvious prejudice against DJ seems to cloud your view. Whine away now!!!

He is the best we have for this year. That could change but unlikely. Also unlikely that we have consistent "elite" performance from the QB position this year.

Not as bad as last year when he was dead last in the acc and 111th in the nation...better than nothing does not have to be good...dj is a great young man, great leader and we all love him,we are just talking about a functioning qb!

I was listening to radio while in the stadium and it sounded like something happened earlier and that he had something put on one of his hands even before he was cleated. It was fairly obvious he was not throwing well. I had told the wife that something was wrong. Ball came out fluttering and weak.

I was one of those who was quite skeptical of DJ's ability to slay his monsters from last year, but I think he HAS to a large extent. He is not one of the elite QBs in the country but he shown the ability to run this offense in a competitive and winning way - and I think he should continue as our starter.
Having said that, it is possible that the Syracuse defense found a way to confuse and confound him - to put more pressure on his weaknesses. Thank goodness we have another 5-star QB to back him up in times of trouble. We will have to see going forward whether DJ's confidence has been shaken - or if defenses have found a chink in his armor.
But it is too early to be throwing him under the bus just yet.

He had a bad day. The question now is ,
If he has a repeat performance against ND will we address it immediately and limit the damage it may do to prevent a loss in South Bend ? The answer is yes. Next question.
Is Cade as equally capable as a true freshman as DJ was to play against Notre Dame and be successful ? Yes it's true we lost that day but DJ had a huge day. Broke several records. The answer is unknown and could be a source of anxiety on here but from what I've seen of the kid he's up for the challenge. His gameday attitude mirrors that of Shipley or pretty #### close. In my estimation he answers the bell and the defense will do what it does. We win
