Jersey rule is lame

Dec 14, 2016, 12:22 PM

As is thinking that a handful of folks on tnet actually dictate gameday fashion.
Why do any of you care?

Yep, I wear my #10 jersey when my daughter is excited for us to wear them (we have matching ones, a gift to us Boyd's soph year). I put on white and purple mardi gras beads with it too.
For me Clemson games are about the joy I get from all the experiences my daughter and I have together.. the travel, the cheering, the food, the fun. It is bonding at its best.
Can't wait to sport that 10 jersey if that's what she wants, when we are in Phoenix, at a sports bar, or just watching from home.

of is lame. You can do it, there is no REAL fashion police after all.

However, A dude in a Jersey to me is as lame as a guy in a wifebeater and jorts. Your fashion choice, but I will still laugh and shake my head.

Why arent you attacking the OP with the same vigor as you are attacking him. What makes his post any worse than the OP both are expressing an opinion. In typical liberal fashion you only want to attack the one you disagree with though.

There's more than just a difference of opinion between the OP and the guy that disagrees. The difference is respect. Guy that disagreed threw insults out and said it was an opinion when in fact it was an insult.

The guy that disagreed probably doesn't have children and will soon realize that if he's a father worth a #### he will bend his ### over backwards just to bring a smile to their lips and make them happy. Grow the eff up people. We are in the final four and yall worrying about jerseys and crap. Holt frigging cow turd ran.over twice by yo mom grow up and enjoy this awesome time in Clemson football.

Lol some of this is just funny. So supporting your team by wearing a jersey is lame?

Think some of you should go to the black hole in oakland or go up to philly with this attitude and tell me how lame it is.

I'm not a big jersey wearer but if I want to wear a jersey I'm wearing a jersey. Personally I think another man checking out my wardrobe is the one with the problem. This may be the dumbest topic I've ever seen on this message board.

3rd row. We were right in the midst of the dressed up, spiked shoulder pad, face painted crazies.. we were pulling for the panthers, but I made sure to tell her that our cheering for this game would be done very discreetly.
Funny enough, the most dressed up folks were the nicest people we met.

Maybe you shouldn't care about college football or recruiting, because after all there 17-21 year old kids and your a man... Maybe you should keep up with golf instead sense you like old guys so much. Let me guess you wear button ups or polos and short shorts to games like a real man huh? If someone wants to support their team and wear a jersey who cares???? I stick to tshirts:)

Couple questions and a general statement

Dec 14, 2016, 1:57 PM

1. Do you actually believe that someone posting a "jersey rule" on tigernet makes it an official rule?

2. While I would never wear another teenager's football jersey unless my son was playing in the game, I think it's great that, as a dad, you do to have fun with your daughter. As dads, we only have a small window where we can enjoy things like that. However, if it weren't for her would you still consider wearing a jersey to a game?

3. How old is your daughter? I assume she's a good bit older since you take her to a sports bar to watch the game. Just curious about the demographics here where she wants to wear matching jerseys with her dad.

General statement: I don't care what you or anyone else wears. Heck, I have seen my dad wear sandals and black socks to the beach. I gave him grief about it then and have for years, but I love my dad. In the end, you're missing the point here, there is one certain fan base who wears more jerseys than any I know, and that particular fan base has never beaten the coots. Coincidence? I think not.

Dec 14, 2016, 3:04 PM [ in reply to Couple questions and a general statement ]

1. No, I don't. But i also see this posted during downtime and never see a counter opinion. Hence the post.

2. I had my daughter right after I graduated from Clemson. I never wore a jersey to one before we received them as gifts, never gave it much thought since. I probably wouldn't, but I also don't ever think about what people are wearing.

3. She is now 14. She was 8 when we started wearing them. We don't go to rowdy places, more like a family pizza place that also has a bar and tvs. We usually sit outside weather permitting. Without fail, people come talk to us and comment on how much fun they have watching us cheer, high five, and do our celebration handshake. Just like negativity is contagious, so are the good times.

I plan on riding this wave as long as my daughter lets us.. if shes 18 and says grab the jerseys, I'm doing it. I'm proud of the relationship I've built with her, and I love that Clemson games and trips are such a big part of it.

and it should be something you're proud of. I love the times I spend with my son watching Clemson games. Just make sure when the time comes that she chooses to attend Clemson instead of some other ACC school like @cutigerbob's daughter did when she decided to stomp on what was left of the cutigerbob family name.

Do your thing, wear your jersey and enjoy your time with your daughter.

P.S. don't be surprised if in 4 years from now when she's 18 that bob will come asking for pics. Be sure to give him a nutpunch when he does.
