I guess Clemson just needs to give up football

I’ve never seen such….everybody acting like Clemson is just dreaming of the day we can play big boy football. How quickly we have forgotten our 2015-2020 run with two Natties (should have been 3). We dominated all of these so called elite teams. We were the elite. Our offense needs work, and it has drastically dropped off the last few years on that side of the ball but we will get it corrected. Our defense this year was elite, and anybody you could have put on our schedule our defense could have kept us in the game. Bring on Georgia, we aren’t scared. This isn’t 2008. Clemson and Georgia have accomplished identical things in their runs except Georgia got to play TCU for one of theirs. Quit acting like we don’t belong.

Not arguing that. It will take a great game to win it, but acting like we don’t even belong on the field with them is just nonsense.

In our last 6 games against top 10 teams, we are 2-4.
Our last top 10 victory was in October 2022 against NC State. That NC State team finished 8-5 and was not ranked in the top 25 at the end of the season.
Prior to that, we beat #2 Notre Dame in December 2020. That’s our last “big boy” win, and that was over 3 years ago now.
We haven’t finished a season ranked in the top 10 in three years.
We can reminisce about our incredible run from 2015-2020, and indeed those are great memories. But they are not our current reality.

Nobody said they are our current reality, but if you think our defense can play with any team in America you are blind. We are missing explosive offense, no arguments there. That has to improve. Our defense though can play with anybody and keep us in any game and that’s not even debatable. It will take a lot of improvement from the offensive side to win that one, and I’m not saying we will win it, but I am saying it’s not like we can’t compete and don’t belong. Dabo and company will give UGA all they want.

Let’s reminisce about Clemson’s basketball championships instead… #### that was fast. Brownie in 13 years has done little to improve the brand!!
