I looked it up. Hopefully he is within 6 weeks.

"Broken toes usually heal within 4 to 6 weeks, but it can sometimes take several months."

but it wasn't completely healed for a month and a half. I was told that if it would have recovered quicker if I rested it more and didn't choose to play as soon. My guess is the staff would like to prevent it from being a prolonged injury and will risk holding him out early in our season to get it healed up so he can put it behind him and focus on the rest of the season.
