I was curious as to how many points per quarter the defense has given up this season, so I made a table. Some interesting facts show up as you can see below. (forgive the list and that I don't know how to ##### a table)
1. First quarter defense has only given up 10 points all season. Obviously this should be all or mostly first string.
2. Clemson has given up only 39 points in the first half all season and only 79 points in the second half with mostly 2nd/3rd string.
3. The Tigers have given up only one multi-touchdown quarter and that was two touchdowns against Wofford in the 3rd Quarter.
4. The only other multi-score quarter Came in the 2nd quarter against Syracuse when they scored two field goals in the second quarter.
5. I'm sure I'm understating how dominate Clemson's defense is this year but I'm many beers in and my brain is slightly addled at the moment. Please add your own observation.
That's 118 total or 10.73 per game. Through 3 quarters we have given up 81 pts or 7.37 per game. 24 pts off turnovers leaves 57 pts scored against our defense through 3 equals 5.2 per game. UNC scored 6 in the 4th vs 1st team (not all 3rd Q were against 1st) so total 84 or 7.64 per game and Defense has given up 63 pts or 5.73 pts when it close to mattered.
