So you think people will play us harder now

Sep 28, 2021, 4:53 PM

that they're smelling blood in the water and we look more vulnerable than we have in many, many years? Or would they play us harder if we were #3 or so and eating people alive like? Or no difference?

I'm thinking we get their absolute best. Not that we didn't before, but before, when you're a 29 point underdog, you're just happy to score and make it respectable. But now that they can see the holes in our armor, I'm thinking we're going to get everyone's absolute best - they don't want to let this opportunity slip away.

I don't think they will play us any harder, I think we have had a target on our back for several years. The difference may be attitude, they may now believe they can beat us which can make a big difference.

One can only dream that will be the case.

Why do dogs always race to the door when the doorbell rings? It's almost never for them.

Our opponents have every reason to feel good about playing us. We have been pretty straight forward about our problems, some like OL, portal, injuries and complacency have been creeping up on us for a while I think it is time for Dabo and staff to stop talking. The one that has shocked many of us is just how timid and under developed DJU is playing. We need to correct a lot of areas but until we find out how to make the QB a positive factor we have a long season. DJ needs lots of help and a lot of simplification of the game. eg. until he gets better at reading defenses maybe he only has one WR target with a safety valve or run option to quickly follow. Build his options as he gets better. He is really slow on the screens but his size can get more yards vs the incompletes. My point is keep training wheels on until he is no harm to himself and the program. Till we master the basics on offense make it simple.
