Hunter. I think getting him in last night was more than about getting him a few snaps. Dabo already knew DJ would be moving on and I think this was getting Hunter a little more experience to backup Cade in the OB.

all season to be our starter if DJ and Cade got hurt. I don't believe he needed experience as much as knocking the dust off of not being on the field for a year.

Now we have one established starter and one coming and we need to sign another QB lest we intend to spend next year worrying about being down to our third string at the position knowing that the bench is empty. I might look to the portal if I didn't already expect one of the prospects to sign.

If we are assuming that he will ultimately transfer, then backup is Hunter Johnson.

Next year it will be Vizzina unless we get a legitimate QB from the portal (I know, snicker).

And I assume that Hunter Helms is still back there. Helms got game action in 2021. He hasn’t gone anywhere, right?

Hopefully we won’t need them all vs UT, but it would be nice to have multiple QBs for the spring game.

Johnson or Helms!

I like them both. Helms was probably going to be a good FCS QB and would be serviceable. If Hunter Johnson is with the team though; he would be the guy.

We are good to go for the bowl game.

For next season; it might be wise to go looking in the portal. But, let's be honest, if a kid is in the portal they want to start.

I think we will be in an interesting spot come the start of next season. Helms like I said, during his limited time, I thought did okay. He's been on campus and knows the system.

Maybe him and the freshman!

Since Cade hadn't played much all season, I thought he was pulled a little early. But that could be to make sure Hunter J. has a little game experience. The coaches may be thinking he will be the backup, believing DJ will transfer.
