Will the grounds crew cover the field Tomorrow & Saturday

Sep 30, 2022, 12:22 AM

morning if there is rain?

At this point it appears it will rain very little now, but I've always wondering if they have cover the field.

I know our field drains very well and is one of the best with it's drainage (by witness of the ND game). But, in an effort to keep things as dry as possible, I wondered if they covered the field leading up to games.

I have never seen them cover the field. I don't even believe they have a covering tarp. It may be a good idea though.

If I am not mistaken, didn't they bring in helicopters to try and dry the field one year? Was this at Clemson or am I day dreaming?

Men at 25 play football. Men at 40 play tennis. Men at 60 play golf. Have you noticed as men get older their balls get smaller.

They brought in helicopters to dry the parking lots in 2015. Lot 2 was a disaster. I don’t remember seeing that they used them to dry the field.

The helicopters were for one of the big grass parking areas in 2015. After the ND game, it rained again for Ga Tech, and then we had homecoming the next week. The playing field was in decent shape, but there was a swamp where we needed to park a thousand SUV's.

“Clemson sucks” (very creative, by the way)…is this what they have been referring to all this time?

NCSU would certainly recognize sucking.

I am pretty sure that our field does not have a SubAir system under it. IT has drainage, much like a golf green under the growing medium but no forced suction.

No need for tarps. Field can take massive amounts of rain and be ready to play in 20 minutes.

There's something in these hills.

Maybe the hill opens up to reveal a secret compartment large enough to store this giant tarp.

Hopefully better than the DB’s did at Wake last week.
