So what now would be starting line-up on bkball team...

May 14, 2022, 3:49 PM

I haven't seen any other stories where Clemson is expecting any more visitors besides 6-8 Josiah Allick from from UMKC visiting Monday.

why he might want to come here with all the competition at that the position is beyond me. maybe just doing it as a favor for his former HC Billy Donlon now the top assistant here. the two top players by far on the team our at his positions Hall and Tyson, and loaded with younger and talented guys behind him in Sheff, Middlebrooks, and the two freshman Wiggins, and Godfrey who can play the 4 some. I don't see Tyson moving to the small forward much, unless Brad expects him to play a whole lot there now.

Most of the other transfers released in the portal who had information that Clemson has contacted have now committed somewhere else. I went back and looked at the threads I created and they are about gone from what I saw. I think Clemson contacted a wing forward recently from SC Upstate. Remember, the deadline to indicate transfer and not have to sit out expired at the first of May. Now, you can still transfer and play immediately if you are a grad transfer. Perhaps there are some guys that Clemson could get involved with who do that soon.

But if they do get Allick, I am going to say the staring lineup right now by player will be:

Center - PJ Hall --top reserves at position Middlebrooks, Allick, Sheff, Chauncey Wiggins (possible redshirt especially if get Allick)
Big Forward - Hunter Tyson -- top reserved at position Sheff, Allick, Godfrey, Chauncey Wiggins.
wing forward - RJ Godfrey -- top reserves Chase Hunter, Hunter Tyson on occasion, Hemenway, and possible other guards.
wing guard -- Chase Hunter -- top reserves Brevin Galloway, Alex Hemenway, Josh Beadle, Chauncey Gibson
point guard -- Brevin Galloway -- top reserves Josh Beadle, Chauncey Gibson, *RJ Godfrey (yes, can play there a lot on offense. Might even start if no one else works out) Dillion Hunter (possible redshirt)

So again, all could change if the last spot is filled by someone else, or someone wants to be released. Again, think the most impactful freshman is RJ Godfrey. Already has a good build at 225-230lbs.

Now, your starters or position ideas...

Roll the ball out and put your top 5 out there. Doesn’t matter to me who the top 5 are. I go to all the games not matter who plays.

Good fan opinion.

Just putting it out for junkies to give opinions. Have some good young players but just not sure there is a legitimate PG of that group who is ready to lead an ACC team to an upper division finish. Perhaps there is a Stitt, McIntrye or Grayson Marshall in that group. Only time will tell...

Yes, Chase Hunter would also be a possible starting PG candidate. Ommited him in that category. Might be Chase at PG and Godfrey as 2G in starting lineup.

Just posted my starting lineup in the other thread. We have a lot of flexibility with our roster, and I could see is changing our lineup slightly based on the size of the opposing team.

Small lineup (still bigger than last years team)

PG: Chase Hunter
SG Brevin Galloway
SF: Godfrey
PF: Hunter Tyson
C: PJ Hall

Big lineup:

PG: Chase Hunter
SG: Galloway
SF: Hunter Tyson
PF: Ian Scheifflin
C: PJ Hall

This lineup could also have PJ Hall at PF and Middlebrookss at C

Also read some more on Josiah Allick. He was hurt for a lot of this past season, and still put up very good numbers. If fully healthy would probably steal most of the minutes from Sheff and Middlebrooks.
But just don't see him starting over Hunter Tyson at big forward. At the other three schools he is considering he would be a sure starter at BYU, OU, and New Mexico. Thinks he ends up at one of those three places unless just really likes playing under Donlon his former coach.

Another Clemson target chose another school. USC Upstate Bryson Mozone chose Georgtown. Would have been a good wing big wing here.
