In 2017 with our lone loss to Syracuse but we can’t make the playoff this year with our lone loss to UGA (potentially)?

We will be fine, maybe not good enough to win a championship, but the win out and miss the playoff talk is ridiculous. There will not be more than 4 1 loss teams that are worthy.

I agree. We can surely make the playoffs. Unless we fix some things on offense our playoff game will end up like our last 2. So, what's the gain?

playoff not going to happen. after getting spanked by osu last year and managing one fg vs the only breathing team on the schedule this year there will be no benefit of the doubt this year.

You sound like someone who has no idea what the rankings will look like in week 12 and expecting 4 teams to be 1 one loss conference champions. And yes Clemson will get the benefit of the doubt for having the cajones to schedule a top 5 team week 1 instead of Furman

a notable win, even if they win out! How can he say that, after week one? Who knows what kind of record FSU or NC State may have by the end of the season. Maybe Va Tech goes into the ACC CG undefeated. To say we won't have a big win at this point is ridiculous!

Which is my point to a lot of people, who knows what Clemson’s strength of schedule is week 1? 2 ranked wins and an ACC 1 loss champion would be enough in any year since the 2014 playoff induction

In 2017 the ACC was much better

We had wins over there ranked programs. Virginia Tech, Louisville, and Auburn. Auburn won the SEC west. What ranked teams will we be able to beat this year?

VT finished 24 and Louisville unranked, I could see us running into a ranked team or two. Auburn was a good win which may be the difference between a top seed in 2017 and squeaking in at 4 this year. Either way a one loss ACC champ isn’t getting left out if we end up playing a few teams that pan out. We just don’t know yet. But we way not see one at all you’re correct
