I heard that, too. But, I think the announcer got it wrong. Venables said he would not be back next year. He's graduating. He's a 5th year senior. He could have a COVID year (6th year) nest year. My impression was he's not playing anywhere next year, just moving on to the next phase of his life path.

After 8 torn hamstrings he's done with football. It's either work or grad school.

Per Brent: “He wants to go to grad school. He’s got internships all set up,” Brent Venables said. “So he’s got a good plan in place and a lot of peace about it." Also, Jake has had EIGHT hamstring injuries and decided that's enough.

I heard that also, then I heard the announcer mention Jeffries, so I wasn’t sure if he was talking bout Jake or Darnell.
