Pitiful. Don't show them the video of Ross one handing the ball. It will crush their delusions.

I read same thing from an independent source a couple months ago.
They do have a good corp of receivers but best in the country is delusional.
I really hope we open it up considerably more this year to show the depth and ultra talented group we have!( The REAL best in the NCAA!)

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

That will be determined by amt playing time coaching staff..

Aug 12, 2018, 9:48 PM

We’re WRU so therefore now they have best receivers you know just like when we won a NC Bentley said he wasn’t leaving until he wins one. We are in their heads 24/7. They want to be like us so bad. Right now we as a football program and as a football team in every position group outclass them in every way just like Clemson as a school and as a fanbase always has. That’s just the way it is. No article, no tweet and no former USuCk QB on the radio will ever change that.

But as they only play in the SEC LEast, I'm certain their receivers will do ok.

Man, they're putting a lot of stock in Debo. Objectively, I really don't see it. Not even really a solid group you can bank on. Debo and Edwards are great and have proven themselves to be high caliber, but those other two? yeah great high school players but really. And further, that's just four guys and we saw how it all got derailed when one of them got hurt, so you mean to tell me ALL have to be playing for them to be dangerous

No, that's just lazy analytics

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

They have some good receivers but as mentioned, several are Tiger rejects.

Two problems though, who is going to throw to them and there is no depth.

Aug 13, 2018, 12:53 PM

I would put the GC group in the top dozen, but taking everything Clemson has returning including 2nd and 3rd string I’d place us ahead of the chickens, especially if Lawrence gets his game really going. KB cannot continue overthrown passes and expect to start!

The GC receivers need to stay healthy, but if Bentley goes down then the program is in big trouble! Nobody in Cola is discussing this topic.

Go Tigers!

Player mentality. Whether they are the best or not I like the fact that they believe that they are. Right now it's still talking season and football cannot get here soon enough!

Re: So they're ignorant and deluded just like the $CU fan base

Aug 13, 2018, 9:41 AM

No, I would call it a winners mentality. I would much rather they believe that they are the best and want to go out and prove everyone wrong than accept the media talk. They may be the best and they may not but when they take the field I want them believing that they are better that whoever is lining up in front of them.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: So they're ignorant and deluded just like the $CU fan base

Aug 13, 2018, 9:57 AM

You can call it what ever you want but confidence only goes so far. We do have the best defensive line in the country, but good luck getting any of our lineman to admit it especially to the media. These guys know they have to continue to work. You can line up with all the confidence in the world and be sat down quickly because you stopped putting in the work to maintain it.

Re: So they're ignorant and deluded just like the $CU fan base

Aug 13, 2018, 10:05 AM

I would think that if asked your d-line would say that they believe that they are the best. Not because the media tells them they are but because they believe that they are. Our receivers were asked and that was the response.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

No, they do not think they are the best

Aug 13, 2018, 1:22 PM

Aug 13, 2018, 3:59 PM [ in reply to Re: So they're ignorant and deluded just like the $CU fan base ]

Re: Gamecocks have the best receivers in the country

Aug 13, 2018, 1:14 PM [ in reply to Re: Gamecocks have the best receivers in the country ]

The problem with mentality is that it is shortsighted! Despite a hurry up offense if your OL can’t block then Jake is in trouble! If Usuck sustains any number of even minor injuries then your team lacks depth.

Receivers are only as good as the offense itself and it will be revealed just how good USCe actually is against UGa. and a senior led Marshall program early in your season. You best hope nobody important gets hurt like last year.

Go Tigers!

I don't know the specifics, but I would guess he took one redshirt year and then the NCAA's Grad transfer rule. 1 year to play 1.
