So sick of hearing this on every sports network...

...and Finebaum is no help.
"Losing to Clemson in Death Valley by six points isn't a result that drops the Cardinals' stock all that far."
"In a game that could have Heisman Trophy implications, Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson outperformed his Clemson counterpart Deshaun Watson but came out on the losing end."
Since when is a loss not a loss. I have heard it equated to more like a "tie game." Ever since I played sports, there were winners and losers. Some put up a great fight, but only one team won. Second place is the first loser. Louisville lost. They played #### hard. We played harder and won the game. Period.
Go Tigers!

I realize it does not matter.... but in the national limelight, give credit where it is due. You and I know the truth... the PAC 12 fans don't.

didn't really outperform DW4, Lamar had 457 total yards and 3 total tds with 1 int while DW4 had 397 total yards with 5 tds and 3 picks, but also a fumble.
We all know the heisman is about the love from the media, Lamar is their darling and he is an incredible athlete but we know who the better QB is and we know who the winning QB is.
I will tell you one thing, Deshaun doesn't care who "outperforms" him as long as he and his team gets the W that's all that matters.

I agree it is a compliment. We are now ranked #3 and UL is #7 so obviously people understand we won.

...felt the same since UL didn't fall that far.
Now, the comment about Jackson outplaying DW4, I disagree with Finebum. The Man won by throwing 2 late 4th quarter TD's to lead his team to victory. That's what should matter.

You can't contribute two of the turnovers to DW. We were moving the chains. Leggett's uncharacteristic and outlier fumble really kept them in there. JL made up for it big time.
We are only 5 games into the season. We are gaining momentum on O, building experience on D, and are relatively healthy. We are well positioned for a playoff run. Once you get in the CFP it's a different ball game. Great time to be a Tiger.
Did you notice that 10 minutes before kick-off when the tunnels in the stadium are usually packed that they were empty? EVERYBODY was in their seats. It was awesome.
What struck me was this - the radio talking heads are generally talking about the Clemson TEAM now, and not just DW4, but when they speak of UL the narrative was Jackson (and rightfully so - phenom player!). Every Tiger team is different. This is the signature win for this team this season which will give them added confidence and focus going forward. 12-0, headed into the ACCCG is a very real possibility (as well as 13-0 and a CFP play-off birth).

It was the same garbage as last year. The only reason we were ranked 1 was due to losses by others, etc. But bottom line, our Tigers kept winning, proving all the 'experts' wrong.
Had it not been for a damb good Alabama team playing out of their ##### - okay, we got outsmarted by Saban and his coaching staff - we would've been Natty champions as well.
Again, nobody believes we can beat Alabama or Ohio State, just like Superman Jackson and Louisville 'couldn't be stopped' ( remember Oklahoma before we played them?).
I (WE) disagree and this year I think we prove a LOT of talking heads wrong AGAIN. And I'm thinking we'll be travelling to Atl/Phoenix AND Tampa!
GO TIGERS!!!!

If DW4 had run 100 plays like Jackson instead of 67, his numbers would have far exceeded what Lamar put up.
With game on the line, Watson delivered. Jackson did not.

Prior to the game, the national press was convinced Louisville would run over us the way they did FSU. Their narrative was already done, and the outlines for their stories in place before the opening kickoff. Our Tigers absolutely wrecked the conventional thinking, but instead of giving our folks their due, we now hear a constant drumbeat that "Louisville lost", instead of Clemson winning. What we are seeing is the easiest way for the press to revise and make use of the stories they already had written.
