i have zero knowledge but here is my .02 cents worth..
last week when the brent venables rumors were flying, i think Dabo knew there was possibility brent was gonna go, yes they recruited because there was nothing set in stone, but then the soon after the championship games are over there will be some word, some assumed it was gonna be a coach in one of those game, but i believe brent was there man along, and then yesterday they flew to visit to finalize the deal, id say there was a contract in play all along, not something they just immeditaely did at last minute, i feel like dabo knew over the last few days but i also believe right now not being here to talk to the players can have a bigger negative effect , these kids live off of emotions and we all know they dont make the best decision, how things get handled we will see, but replacing players, and a venables won't be easy to start off with, i hope im wrong but this more likely will define clemson football for the next 3-4 years. also think things may have soured over the last few months amongst coaches with all the stressful things that have happened at clemson this year, losing games we were suppose to win , tons of injuries, players leaving..again all speculation, just the way it feels.. again, i hope tigers come out of this strong and ill be back next year cheering them in my seats

The issue is what the portal has created. OU and CU fans are seeing it first hand. Losing a coordinator or HC in the past was not a big deal with the transfer rules. Now it can flat out decimate a team witb recruits and current players.
IF we lose a fair amount of players, it will be a really tough pill to swallow and still appreciate the game we all love.

And if they hit the portal what can anyone do about it? Dabo being in Clemson or Las Vegas to celebrate induction with Spiller isn’t going to change that. Everyone knew this day was going to come. Clemson has been spoiled with the fact their staff has remained mostly intact but turnover was inevitable. Dabo likely already has the wheels in motion, so instead of worrying about it let’s see how it plays out. The world isn’t ending regardless.

ALSO, Venebles deserves this chance, he has earned every right to be a head coach and all we can do is wish him well and thank him for what he did for Clemson football over the last 10 years..

1 - I don’t think Dabo gives a tinker’s #### about being a Vegas, he’s there for CJ, who is easily arguably the catalyst for where Clemson is now.
2 - Dabo could have a Jet ready to take him anywhere in the world on 8 hours notice (and it’s probably 4 hours notice) 50 times a year and he’d still be fine.

Yup.
A lot of these guys don't seem to understand Dabo.
He has always had the attitude of, if you don't want to be a tiger, we don't want you to be a tiger.
If AM and simpson want to go or even entertain going Dabo will gladly show them the door.
I'm not worried, until Dabo shows me he doesn't have a handle on this, I trust him.
I was born in 83...been watching Clemson since I can remember, I never thought I'd see Clemson at the hieghts Dabo got us. I have no reason to believe he is inadequate in any way.
Dabo will have Clemson in the best position to win that is possible come next September and I guarantee you that.

Dabo even said it himself.
Clemson University and it's CULTURE is what matters the most... it's bigger than any person, coach, player, fan, etc.
I agree with these ideals and the respect for developing human potential and doing so with the love of God, country, and our fellow man.
People come and go, that's life.
Holding on to our values has a much larger impact!

Thanks so much for your message. Clemson University IS a culture. It’s a belief in being All In. Think of the possibilities the future holds. Dabo is always saying that the best is yet to be. Again, for us old timers, this is not the worst thing ever. Just like Frank Howard and Danny Ford, Dabo is Clemson football ?? now. I, for one, am excited about the future. Go Tigers!
