What in the world is going on with Mikey Dukes?

It was reported he wasn't a part of the 110-man roster last week and I haven't heard anything else from the coaches or David elaborating on the situation.

"Mikey Dukes got a little later than the rest of these guys and he wasn't in pads today. He is still in his acclimatization period. Mikey is a guy who has missed out on some early opportunities but we will get him back rolling."

That's not much, but I guess it lets us know he's definitely still on the team and playing, which is good news. Still doesn't explain what the deal with him was; why he "missed out on some early opportunities". Disciplinary? COVID? Something else?

With the term "acclimatization", something I'm well familiar of living above 9000' in the Colorado Rockies, my guess is COVID. His lungs might not be ready to handle the workload of full practice yet.

he wasn't avail or wasn't allowed to start when everyone else starts - you have to have so many days before getting in shells or pads.


your definition is also correct - but I took it he meant the NCAA practice "acclimatization" period.

no idea why he wasn't able to start day 1 with everyone else .....

Disciplinary actions. If it was China Virus related, Dabo would have stated it. Brannon Spector has had some issues with it -hence- he has not practiced yet. Dabo talked about it at the start of camp!
