So Fields came out and said his knee is about 80-85%

Already building the narrative. If they win he’s a hero on a bum knee. If they lose it’s because he was hurt.

If it was just a sprain then after four weeks he should be almost 100% with the treatment available to a D1 athlete at a school like OSU.

So the question is are they blowing smoke or was he hurt more seriously than originally reported?

Either way they’re laying down the narrative.

Fake news. He was fine in the wisky game or they wouldn’t have run him.

He won't finish the game. ***

The Big 10 championship was just over 2 weeks ago. It will be 3 weeks at game time. So if it takes 4 weeks to heal 100% then 80-85 at 3 is a fair assessment.

Wasn't he hurt 2 weeks before the B10CG? 2 weeks plus 3 weeks equals 5 weeks. Will he actually be at 110%?

Don't eat the rat poison, or are you spreading it?

He was re-injured in the Michigan game. Wore a big brace in the title game. Injuries heal with time and “rest.”

usually when athletes say 80, they mean 60

Definitely, a pre-game strategy that hopefully will be shot down by our staff and players. Everyone will have read this and it only needs to get into one player's head and for them to think just briefly that he is hurt and can't outrun them. It could be the extra yard he needs for a 1st down or TD.

We will need to weather a couple of long runs from Dobbins and keep the pressure on Fields. Be prepared to dink and dunk on offense and get Young to chase things early in the game. Let's see if he has the fitness to play against 80-90 offensive plays. When he subs out take our deep shots.

Yeah, a 19 year old kid is "building a narrative." Please.

Well dang . My 5 yr. old grandson is building narratives . Why is it so hard to believe that a 19 yr. old is not capable of it ?

If you believe that, then I have some ocean front property in Arizona I'd love to sell you, fortunately Coach V is much smarter than to believe a word of that

Watch the game and see the very next play after being hurt. He came back in and rolled out to his left and threw a TD. If he was hurt, it sure did not show. He never even limped after that hit. I call BS.

Different people have Different Symptoms.
About 6 months ago, I twisted my knee getting off a tractor. It popped, but didnt really hurt. It just got sore. I didnt even fall. Just walked it off and climbed on another tractor and plowed the rest of the day. A few weeks later, I started losing ROM on flexion and started getting minor swelling. Went to Doc. MRI said complete ACL tear. When I had surgery, he also found large tear in meniscus.

He is not 85%. He is either 50% or 100%, but not what they say he is.

Tough luck if it’s true, but you’re either a championship level team or you’re not. OU has suspensions (as did we last year), and LSU has an injured tailback.

Look at our two QB injuries vs. Syracuse. The first one, because the starter was pretending to be more ready-to-play than he actually was, and the coaches didn’t have a backup sufficiently prepared, we got clobbered after his lack of mobility got him knocked out cold. Last year, by contrast, the coaches learned their lesson, and even with fewer options had a backup well prepared to get us through.

If Fields truly is 85%, that won’t get it done. Their coaches must be smart enough to know that and, hence, prepare a suitable backup. It’s nut cuttin time. Injuries mean “next man up.”

The only narrative I will read one way or the other is "Clemson goes back to back."

Maybe im wrong here or maybe its just that i only follow Clemson closely but i dont recall an athlete saying he's not 100% healthy before a championship game. If their not healthy they usually cover it up and say they are fine, especially when it comes to a knee injury. I might just be overthinking it but i believe this is just a mind game Fields is trying to play

I'm starting to feel alone in not giving to

Players don’t say this sort of thing if they are 100% healthy. So why is he saying it?
