One they never mentioned was Charlie Whitehurst’s last game in WBS. His run to get a critical first down in the fourth quarter was huge! Sitting among GC fans their mood fell like nothing I’d ever seen.

And therein boys and girls is a short resume of the "Chicken Curse". In Webster's Dictionary it is defined under "INEPTNESS". Many Gamecock fans still list the "push off" as the play that lost the game for them. That is ironic because a push off by their DB would have resulted in a 15 yard penalty and we would still be beyond field goal range with time running out. Over 125 years of "what if".

I would have thought the NAVY loss in 1984 while ranked #2 would be at the top but I guess it's a young crowd over on FGF. It takes a special commitment to be an "older" lifelong Coot fan. A life of low paying hard labor jobs takes it's toll too.
