So does anyone have scoop on UGA offense in upcoming season

Will they run the same plodding run game which continues to propagate an underperformance of their recruiting ranking? Will they lead the pack in doing less with more? Either way it’s Tigers 41 Jawga 31. Go Tigers.

Sure doesn't look like it. Here's some of the recent numbers comparing the new OC with prior seasons and then even the new OC with the new QB.
2020 Rush Yd = 41.1% Pass Yd = 58.9% 2019 Rush Yd = 45.4% Pass Yd = 54.6% 2018 Rush Yd = 51.4% Pass Yd = 48.6% 2017 Rush Yd = 59.4% Pass Yd = 40.6% 2016 Rush Yd = 49.7% Pass Yd = 50.3%
Then with the new QB for the last 4 games of the season:
Last 4 of 2020 Rush Yd = 36.1% Pass Yd = 63.9%
Seems like the new OC has brought the UGA offense out of the dark ages.

Daniels may struggle throwing without any receivers to throw to.

Meh. Lazy assessment.
There is talent in the WR/TE room. Maybe not household names, but there is no lack of guys to throw to.

No secret. They will run the ball again and again until we show we can stop it. Last season that weakness killed our chances of another NC.

No, but like everything else that comes out of a dog, I do believe a scoop is the correct tool for cleaning it up

Their best receivers are hurt. Also, they have a lot of young DB's to go against our young WR's.

If Jake Venables, Nolan Turner, and Landon Zanders get significant playing time we'll have trouble stopping them. However, if we put our elite athletes on the field like Vonta Bentley I like our chances.

UGA fan here, hope it's alright to join the forum for some friendly banter heading up to the big game...
UGA will throw the ball a lot more than in years past for two reasons; JT Daniels (best QB of the Kirby era) and Monken (OC). Kirby came in and tried to implement Bama circa 2010, but is changing his offensive philosophy and getting more aggressive on offense. Of course this doesn't mean UGA will abandon the run, but will most likely stick with whatever happens to be working. See Daniels first start last year (401 passing yds, 62% pass plays, 38 attempts), then the next game the run is working (139 passing yds, 27% pass plays, 16 attempts).
I want to say they they would throw it more in the season opener, but of course your d-line will have something to say about that. So, the run/pass ratio will probably be dictated by what's going on at the line of scrimmage.
Burton is the best receiver on the team, even if Pickens wasn't hurt. There's been a rash of injuries at the receiver spot, but all (minus Pickens) should be good to go come the season. Lots of talent in the room, just has yet to come to fruition under a full season of Daniels/Monken. The UGA faithful are excited about the WR room.
There's a lot of talent at o-line, but need some of the inexperienced guys to step up and solidify the line. Likely not to happen before game one, so will be interesting to see how that plays out. RBs are solid as usual, and TEs have the chance to showcase a little more under the re-tooled offense as well.
Hope you guys don't mind me sticking around and talking UGA/Clemson leading up to the game. Cheers

Thanks and welcome. I would disagree on the Burton > Pickens take but he’s certainly capable of filling the #1 WR role. Similar to Powell for us last year, but Burton is a notch above.
I think this game comes down to the secondaries. Both O-lines will have their hands full and I don’t think we’ll have too much success on the ground unless we’re hitting on stuff downfield.
Should be a good one though. Can’t wait to pay through the nose for tix...

@cCS73Burton was a true freshman last year without spring or summer practices thanks to Covid. We'll see this year when we can compare both of their sophomore years.
Do agree about the secondaries. I know UGA will be trotting out a lot of new, inexperienced starters.

I keep up with it some as I have 2 UGA friends. I think the offense will be improved. Smart has had a problem opening up the offense. Even Saban (his teacher) has done that. He likes to pound the ball, have to say many of also like that. These days a team needs more than one demension.
UGA has a QB who appears to be able to pass at an elite level. Pickens is out, but UGA has 5 star receivers. The "O" line is good. They have plenty of elite level RBs.
The UGA offense on paper is as good as any team and better than 99%.
Their defense is elite, some lack of experience in the back frield, but the line is soild.
Their schedule is easy, they will be double digit favorites in all games except in Charlotte. They are a Top 5 team. Due to heavy use of the Transfer Portal, half the team don't know the names of the other half.

The "O" there is vintage. The deal is not so much stats but winning games. UGA may not be winning Nattys, but they are winning games.

Did you watch the Peach Bowl? I’d rather watch snails mate it was so boring with 2 lackluster offenses. I don’t think Cincinnati has as good a defense as Clemson‘s. They may need to rethink that so-called passing attack.
Dabo’s gonna run it up. He’s had this one marked a good while. It will cripple Georgia’s in-state recruiting when Dabo goes back to grabbing the top three or four instate Georgia.

If that bozo o-lineman didn’t get chucked out of the game for that stupid “targeting” call, Cincy may have pulled out a win. That is crazy considering UGA has the best roster outside Bama most years. Here’s hoping this is the 5th year in a row I blow $500 betting on them to win it all in Vegas (emotional hedge).

I saw this on how consistent UGA has been the last 6 years minus the loses to coots ?? the game I actually pull for them.
They’ve won 62 games in the last 6 years, with 6 number 1 recruiting classes & played for the sec championship too.

6 number 1 recruiting classes in the last 6 years? According to who?
From 2015-20, 24/7 had us 6, 6, 3, 1, 2, and 1. And had us at 3 this year. Good yes, but not quite "6 number 1 classes". Now Bama on the other hand, has been: 1, 1, 1, 5, 1, 2, and 1.

We have performed better against the best teams but our run has been nothing short of amazing. It will be a upset if UGA pulls it off but neither team should be hurt by this matchup.
It’s exciting to start this way but it won’t define our seasons. I wish we could play this game first every season because it improves focus & forces both teams to be ready early. I left off the 6 straight ACC Championships

I do believe Clemson wins and it is not as tough as media predicts. Clemson and UGA will not be what they will be later in the season, but both will be awesome.
With receivers again on board, Tigers will stretch the field.
UGA will not be able to score enough.

I bet they stick with what works best for them.
Win both the recruiting and summer hype national championships by mid-July, then under impress from September - November.
