tied to low to no portal use when our recruiting classes are smaller, annually and consistently, than pretty much every other top program out there? Seriously, where is my disconnect here?

We have one of the lowest outgoing portal numbers and are landblasted for not using it to replace these, yet our competitive set has more outgoing, they're much more active in portal incomings, yet also bring in more freshmen pretty much every single year? How are we getting 'younger' in comparison here?

what is the basis for your argument that the competition is using the portal but also bringing in more freshmen every year?

I'm not saying you're wrong. I'm just trying to understand the basis for you assertion.

Haven't looked into that like I have incoming HS class sizes. By those HS numbers, and this year will be even lower than that average, it's hard to reckon with the young angle.
