So are we getting the checks or not?

Hell I even teach government #### and I'm not sure.
Dems are making a political game of the $15 MW by putting it in the bill even though it can't be put in the bill (Byrd Rule). It already is DOA in the Senate.
Senate Parliamentarian has already said the final bill can not have the $15 MW in it.
So do struggling Americans get the 1400?

You have received a pay check this whole time. Did you wife get furloughed? You cannot seem to grasp that you are part of the problem when it comes to this country’s debt.

I disagree. Make those Republican Senators actually filibuster against these popular measures. I want to SEE them on TV speaking out against much needed help for THEIR constituents.
Don't get rid of the filibuster - make them actually do it - endlessly argue against the measure.

But I really wanted to highlight the fact that increasing minimum wage is incredibly popular and how these negotiations are being high jacked by representatives of a tiny minority of Americans.

I agree, but I think the actual filibuster would bring that to light - and make those Senators pay an electoral price for the obstinance - and maybe think twice before pulling the filibuster out so often.

There will be no $15 minimum wage

It will be proceedured out of existence, or preferably shelved and forgotten about. I'm sure it will then become a crisis and calling call again when the GOP takes back Congress in the next midterms. Same way Trump's wall was never mentioned, and never funded, when he had a GOP Congress for his first two years, then when the dems won the midterms and split Congress, it was suddenly a crisis and was still never fully funded or built.
Same way Obama never raised minimum wage with a fully dem Congress, or got single payer healthcare passed.
It's all a game, you have to know the rules and how/why it's played, but the politics behind all of this is just to the point of being eye-rolling.

Depends on your income

The consensus is that the $1400 checks will taper off at a lower income level. Most estimates are $45,000 to $50,000, but Yellen wants to see it higher.
So if you're $75,000 or above income, you definitely won't be getting one. $50k-75k you have a much reduced chance of getting one.
