RIP Gaines Adams 12 years ago…

One of Clemson’s sons who helped begin to bring Clemson back into glory!

And to this day has one of Clemson’s most memorable plays. May he RIP forever and watch over the Blue Ridge!

I was in Iraq at the time of the play. I had just filled a couple of sandbags to get an MRE from the DFAC. Walking through there was a 13” TV in one of the small seating halls and for some reason the game was on and the play was happening as I walked by. Even before he passed it was one of my most memorable Clemson plays of all time. RIP Gaines, a true Clemson man!

There is nothing but good memories--except that one shockingly bad day. I can't believe it's been that long. You'll never be forgotten, GA.
