And the crazy part is how false of a narrative the movie sends. Most of the people should be people of color. Moses wife was an Ethiopian women . But that's the way things are. Smh

Moses had multiple wives only one of which was Ethiopian. She played no significant role in the Bible. Egyptians and Jews are not black no matter what History’s revisionists say.

I never understood why showing this movie was the Easter tradition rather than showing Ben Hur, which is much more relatable.

Passover commemorates the blood on the doorframe preventing the Angel of Death of the Firstborn from entering the Hebrew households while in slavery to Egypt. This plague caused the Pharaoh to release the Hebrew slaves.
Similarly, Jesus’s blood on a cross, when acknowledged as redemption for our sin, brings freedom from the penalty of sin.
That’s the only reason I could come up with.

Speaking of Easter programming we used to watch that 70's animated "Here comes Peter Cottontail" and "It's the Easter Beagle- Charlie Brown" as a kid every year. Guess that's not raunchy enough for prime time anymore either.

from being viewed for free this time around. I just searched Hulu, Peacock, AND Paramount+, neither The Ten Commandments nor Ben Hur show up. It does show up on Amazon Prime, but not for free.
