This isn't an popular opinion..

but I would like for us remain in the ACC and reach out to ND and WVU athletic directors to gauge their interest to see if they want to join the ACC..
My 2nd scenario.. have the ACC Commissioner and its current members make a phone call to the Big 12 Commissioner and it's current members (you can include the 'new' members UCF, BYU, Cincy, etc) and 'merge' to form a "super conference " schedule 8-9 "cross conference" games(ex. Clemson VS TCU)
2-3 "Inter conference " games(ex. Clemson VS N.C. State.. TCU VS Iowa state) and 1 non-conference game(ex. Us Vs the chickens)
If all that fails... Clemson and AD Neff have a extremely difficult decision to make...

Neither is realistic as both conferences are about to implode. We are either going to the BIG or the SEC. It's a matter of long-term financial survival. Staying in the ACC or Big XII means we die a slow, agonizing death.

First, our President and Board of Trustees will make any decision, not our AD. Second, the ACC would gain very little by inviting West Virginia.

Couple of points....

The ACC has been and will continue to be “in contact” with Notre Dame joining. So are B1G and SEC. we are the 4th option for Notr Dame presently, behind those 2 and status quo.

You need to rethink your dream scenario and account for revenue per school. We need to RAISE it. A realistic goal would be 60% of the upcoming SEC/B1G contracts, which stills leaves us TOO FAR BEHIND the teams we are recruiting against. Your proposal actually would LOWER our revenue by adding nonproductive schools.

Try again.

I do not understand all these post about wanting to stay in acc and add a bunch of mediocre programs. All that does is ensure Clemson football becomes irrelevant.
