.... Then to make it interesting and a little more compelling.... Why not expand the CFP to a 24 team format for 2020 only.... Here's how it could work.... P5's, G5's, and major independents play a 10 game regular season with a MINIMUM of 8 conf games (major independents play combo of P5's, G5's, and each other).... This leaves 2 games for OOC rivalries (SCar) and high interest games (ND).... CFP committee seeds 24 teams, and the top 8 get first round byes.... First 2 rounds (16 games) played in December (higher seed home or non-New Years 6 bowls).... Quarter-final games, semi-final games, and CFP championship game played at previously designated New Years 4 (non-semi's), New Years semi's, and CFP sites.... No team plays more than 15 games to win CFP, and top 8 would have no argument for having to play "meaningless" first round game .... What do you think?
