Simple yes/no question:

Mar 6, 2022, 9:40 AM

In year 12, is a 10th place finish in basketball acceptable?

don’t comment about injuries , every team has them.

Don’t comment about next year, it’s very cootish

Yes…

It’s Clemson basketball…We aren’t Duke or Kansas. We are the South Carolina Football of college basketball.

So you’re saying from this point forward as long as we finish 10th , you’re good with that?

If you just want “NO” answers then why give the choice?***

Move On

Mar 6, 2022, 9:44 AM

Yes. Stop trying to get CBB fired. Not your decision. I think if you would have watched this basketball team down the stretch, you would have seen a team that represented Clemson well. Clemson GRIT was truly on display. The lunatic fringe can just move over to worrying about football because basketball is in good hands.

You didn’t answer the question. This is very easy

Cobbox has a very strange existence here.

Just shows up on a message board to call out people who care about the program and have concerns.

Apparently we’re “lunatics” for that.

Are you an IPTAY member? If so what level? I do not listen to complaints from anyone without skin in the game.

Cobbox let’s look at the entirety not 4-5 games. Either you want to gamble to see if we can get better or you stay with what you got or have had for the last 10 plus years. People that want better are not lunatics or people that settle. Win that is the bottom line when it comes down to it. Clemson should never finish in the bottom half of any sport imo, and I will never settle on we are not Duke or UNC. Neither is an excuse to be top 6 in conference on a consistent basis.

Not acceptable. Tiger level member + golf paws+tnet donor. I've voiced my displeasure to the AD.

Not to most that would like to see us at least compete in the upper half of the ACC, but it sounds like most have thrown in the towel and thinks things are good enough. Not sure anyone wants to see anyone canned but some competitive basketball for an entire season would be nice. We are going to be what we currently are for the foreseeable future with no changes but if wanting to win puts me in the lunatic fringe category count me “All In.” To be compared to the USUC football program says all that needs to be said. Pretty #### embarrassing.

No, it's not

Mar 6, 2022, 9:53 AM

and I think even Brad would say that. No one, and I mean no one, is saying we should be the holes or Dook. But we should at least be Wake, VT and Miami

Re: Simple yes/no question:

Yes as long as it is recognized and valued for the years when Clemson finished higher than preseason expectations.

Like this year as Clemson was expected to finish 11th.

No, not acceptable. I laid out an unbiased, non emotional argument in another thread. Mens ACC bball has slid the last decade. You can extrapolate what our record would be had we played the women's schedule... Which is what ACC men's bball used to look like.

Women's SOS - 24
Q1- 0-20 - (12 teams ranked top 25)
Q2- 5-2
Q3- 1-1
Q4- 4-0

Men's SOS - 85
Q1- 1-5 - (Duke ranked top 25 both losses)
Q2- 3-7
Q3- 7-2
Q4- 5-1

No! Glad for the late winning surge, but I think it is time for a change!

Nope. It’s not acceptable.

Re: Simple yes/no question:

Mar 6, 2022, 11:11 AM

No it is not but don't make the decisions. 10th place in 12th season is not all of it. But body of work in 12 seasons. Three NCAAs and likely just three NITs as well.

If it was me, he would be gone, but not the Clemson AD.

I still feel like if Neff was already at Clemson as top AD for a year, Brad would be gone after this season.

He is still learning all the ropes.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

This would be my point

Mar 6, 2022, 2:22 PM

The body of work, even Roy Williams had a rare bad season beyond his 12 years with UNC, but he was a proven commodity and the circumstances for that season mattered. We’ve seen nothing that tells us Brad can have a magical season like Dayton in 2020, let alone turn things around and be a consistent contender in the ACC… 12 years in and there is no “hope”, we’ve seen the ceiling and the floor, no need to watch this movie again for any number of years.

game win streak is what it took just to get us back to mediocrity. Glad for the players that they managed it, but sad for Clemson because now we are most likely stuck with the same coach again next year.

A simple NO.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Simple yes/no question:

Mar 6, 2022, 2:28 PM

Answer is no.

I like Brownell as a good rep for Clemson, but the endless mediocrity has to end. Some one else put it well, I don’t expect to be on Duke/UNC level, but we should be in the upper group of the ACC and making the tournament with some regularity.

Brownell is a nice guy, but let’s try something new. Might be worse, but we’ll never know till we try. We could get the next Dabo for BB.
