Shake-up in Tigertown... or shakedown?

Dec 6, 2021, 4:06 AM

What in this wild world is going on all the sudden???

Is BIG $$$ gonna break up the "Clemson Family" or do we stick to our culture, values, and belief systems and stay the course.

This is a very good time to make a huge statement! I'm really interested to see how Clemson University responds to all these rapid changes being presented.

GO TIGERS!!!

I'm not sure what your statement is referring to but $$$ isn't breaking up the Clemson family, the opportunity is, and that's a good thing for the next group of coaches that come through.

We have had one of the highest-paid Coaches up until the last month and have had the highest-paid Assistants. Have you stopped to think that maybe we invented the "BIG $$$" issues going on right now?

My big fear in the "BIG $$$" conversation is how does Clemson keep up. We set a standard that quite frankly didn't make a ton of sense given our overall revenue stream, primarily from the ACC. The Big 10 has been the leader with revenue followed by the SEC. The gap for the ACC schools is significant and by year 2025 will be about $20 million per year.

My biggest fear isn't losing BV or TE, it is why is DRAD leaving to go to a smaller school in and more expensive city to live? Is he leaving us in dire straights financially? Is the smoke about the NCAA investigation into New Spring coming down the pipe? Makes no sense to me.

On a positive note, it might be a good thing financially to flush the high Asst salaries, get some good young talent in here that we can afford and, with our culture, get back to our winning ways.

Just trying to look at it differently.
