As much as we want Burrow... it's not going to happen

OU will beat LSU on Dec. 28.
I'm not sure I have ever seen the level of disrespect OU is getting, combined with the love LSU is getting. OU is literally viewed as a throwaway game, by everyone, and it's not close.
For all the things Jalen Hurts lacks... this is his 4th trip to the CFP. He is a winner. Lincoln Riley has 3 weeks to prepare. The LSU offense better be as good as advertised, because they are going to need it.
The CFP national title game will be between the 2 QBs that have been on that stage before.

LSU seems so cocky, too. Pride goeth before the fall.

i agree. I’ve even heard some people call it a “bye”

Are you serious? The Oklahoma Sooners a bye?
I think LSU will likely win but it’ll be something like 45-38. Remember LSU didn’t exactly kill Texas who went 7-5 in the big 12.

Not gonna happen.
LSU will shred OU's defense and could score 60 if they wanted to.
LSU's defense seems to have found itself recently and OU will be lucky to keep it within 3 touchdowns.
Jalen Hurts is amazing but he won't even be the best player on the field: That distinction goes to Joe Burrow.
OU is getting the respect it deserves, which isn't very much. There are 3 big brothers in the CFP and one little sister. The sister is OU.

"LSU's defense seems to have found itself recently and OU will be lucky to keep it within 3 touchdowns."
Found itself against whom, Arkansas? Texas A&M?
The reason talking heads are saying that and you regurgitated it is because they punked a UGA team who can't get out of their own way. UGA offense has been bad all season. This game is going to be a shootout. Hurts has been there before, Burrow has to handle winning the Heisman, and both defenses are vulnerable.
Did I mention Georgia sucks?

I agree. The jury's still out on LSU's defense. I think this game has the potential to be a barn-burner.
IMO the difference will be turnovers, which gives LSU the advantage. If zero turnovers, then special teams play. But it's not a lock, by any means.

Hope they all regret the disrespect this year. I would love a Clemson/Oklahoma final. Clemson gets another shot at OU, and Hurts gets another shot at Clemson.

OU will be much more like their game with Bama

Bama finished giving up 318 per game on defense avg. LSU 341 yards per game given up.
OU give up around 330. ***Caveat*** OU plays in the wide open Big 12 where it's throw it around the yard then run up the gut when you over commit to stopping the pass.
Obviously much like last year in our game versus the greatest (so called) team to ever don college football uniforms we were a huge underdog as well. What happened?
OU and Lincoln Riley if nothing else can exploit some issues on the LSU defense. It's possible LSU all of a sudden finds their defensive pulse. Or after 13 games you are who you are! Texas A&M had just given up it seemed like to me because they struggled prior to the LSU game. Georgia was playing basically 1 dimensional football - as their WR's posed little to no threat. Neither did their QB as a result. But, what happens when the LSU defense has to actually play defense again?

I kinda agree. Jalen Hurts is a winner and not phased by this stage. OU playing much better D than they used to. I still think LSU wins, but its not going to be blowout.

In Boxing they call it: A Punchers Chance
Dec 10, 2019, 1:14 PM

OU if nothing else has offense. They have a punchers chance if Hurts and Riley and company can come out and play wide open Big 12 offense. If not, "it's over"! I expect multiple 4th down attempts to keep drives alive by Riley(if needed). What LSU is doing on offense is awesome. You wonder if it's the: scheme, QB, WR's, play calling? Obvious answer is: "it's all those things"! But, I mean, which contributes the most? Because i'm sure it's been tried in the NFL before and defensed in the NFL before. Are they running plays "never before seen"? I know Payton is a big believer in maximizing space. Making sure WR's aren't too close to each other and having a QB who will throw it to windows where the 1 on 1 and match up decided before the game is. Having multiple weeks to prepare could make a difference. I still look at the personnel of Auburn and some of the things they were able to do to hold LSU to 23 points as a key! Oklahoma don't have that type of personnel but do have a more potent offense. Slow them down enough and that potent offense has a chance to outscore the Tigers.
I wish we had LSU 1st honestly! BV with multiple weeks to prepare for what you do is a bad thing for offenses. Even this years LSU offense.

The Championship game. The football calendar was really spread out this year. Too bad for Bama...this is the one year fatigue would have been offset. Selah!

CBV will have from December 28th to January 13th, 16 days. Should be more than enough time to get ready. Of course, all this assuming Clemson beats OSU, which I think they will.

On top of whatever he's already doing.
I guarantee LSU's already got a preliminary Clemson game-plan.
