we have become a spoiled bunch of fans.
And that goes for others besides the students. I have too many friends who are more and more deciding they only want to come up for the "big" games now. Can't be bothered to attend the "cupcake" games. Too hot, bad kickoff time, chance of rain, bad hair day, sale at Big Lots....
Like he states, we need to fully enjoy what we have now because it won't - it can't - last forever. I've experienced way too many gutpunch losses to Duke, Wake, SCAR, BC, etc. in my time not to embrace what we now have. This is as F-U-N as it will ever be, and it'll take a really major life/death issue for me to miss a home game in the near future.

all you have to do is check into this board to see we have a large group of so called pathetic fans. much like we have in the real world they can not be happy unless they are complaining about something. fact is we live in the entitlement generation and it is very sad indeed.

with a 3rd of the fans back at the car for a drink and a piece of chicken. That to me is just as noticeable as the student section if not more.

I stay for the half time show - it is worth the watch! Also saves the trouble of getting in and out of the stadium and not having to sweat missing out on the beginning of the 2nd half.

of the 3rd quarter. I see nothing wrong with slipping out and back in as long as you make it back. I do miss some great halftime performances by Tiger band though.

The problem with student attendance started when they went to the lottery to get tickets. When students had to camp out for days to get tickets they had some"skin in the game" and did not miss the game or leave early because they had invested a lot of time and effort in getting those tickets. By making tickets easy to get by entering ticket lottery, they basically have not lost a thing by leaving early or not showing up. Hopefully, in future years some changes will be made in the student distribution program- maybe go back to first come first served, or have a charge for tickets, or making a rule that if you leave early during game you will be ineligible for future free tickets while at Clemson. Whatever the future holds, I don't see how the current status quo can be maintained.
