Didn't Big Game Bob pass over BV to give his brother more control over the defense? Doesn't seem like the kind of interim coach you'd want to help you recruit BV back.

Pretty sure that's part of why he left OU. Not sure what his relationship with Stoops is like now, but it was a little sour when that went down.

Brent was the DC while brother was HC at Arizonia. Then Rich Rod happened and Bob brought brother Stoops back and made him Co-DC, busting Brent behind their control. Turns out neither was anywhere close to Brent caliber and Lincoln was brought in to cover that with lots of Offense.

Brent left for the same pay as OU was offering. He wanted no part in the "band of brothers game" and why Brent to OU doesn't make any sense. Stoops still has his hand in the jar and I believe he no longer has children playing ball to watch anymore.

Fat Phil did this at Tennessee. When I saw that Stoops was back in town, I was no longer worried about Venables taking the job. Big Bob looking over your shoulder would be tough for anyone, but Brent would kill that old man! He was relegated to a co-coordinator under Bob. Stoops brother qill get that gig or Bob will take it for 4 years and name a coach in waiting.
