about how mismanaged the fan day was. I haven't been to one in forever, but I assume it has just gotten so big that it is not the same as it used to be where just show up and get a picture or two, meet the players, etc.
I'm not sure why Clemson can't get it together on this, they seem to do everything else right. On the other hand, I see posts where people are complaining about no water, it's hot, nothing for the kids etc. Well, just like in 1974 when I last went as a kid, it's hot in South Carolina in August. That's a given. As for water, we drank something before we got out of the car and drank some more when we left. Stop and get a water sometime during the morning, or a coke, of kool aid or something. I see posts that say there was nothing for the kids. Well, in 1974 my dad said better bring something for them to sign and that was that.
I really don't see why people make such a big thing about fan day now. Wait in line all morning just to do what you could do at the end of any game during the season. Go down on the field, catch a player, get him to let you take a pic with him and get him to sign something. I just don't get it.

everything else right. So "greatness is what they do" is a pretty fair statement. As I said, I'm not sure why they haven't gotten it together on this, but the dissatisfaction I'm seeing on here today is the same as the last few years.

Many times. I remember when Bowden was coach you could get every player amd the coach's autograph before time was up. Amd that includes when they had James Davis and Spiller isolated by the North Stand elevator.

Why couldnt they hold it in the indoor facility? And maybe have a cut off for a certain number of people in each line.

But I would think that it has grown so much in popularity that it is currently impossible for everyone who attends to get the autographs and pictures they want. People shouldn't have to camp out for 8 hours to be assured of getting an autograph.
So my solution is this: only allow one autograph per person. Don't let people bring multiple items to have signed. Don't allow photos. Don't allow people to chit-chat and tell stories to the coaches/players when they meet them. Yes, that was possible in the "good 'ol days" but it isn't now. If everyone understood the rules ahead of time, and they were enforced, it would probably go more smoothly and more people could get to meet their favorite players and coaches and get autographs.
I don't know what the answer is regarding it being hot. It would seem to make sense to have it indoors at the football practice facility or Littlejohn. But as I said, I haven't been in years and don't know how many people we are talking about.

They did limit it to one autograph from each player

and Dabo. And cold water and Cokes ( sorry - no Natty bottles) were available. With lines so long and an ending time you knew you could only get through 2 lines before it was over.
