Rivals has Feaster ranked at 80

Jun 1, 2015, 12:19 PM

Any particular reason why they're not high on him as others? I mean the kid ran a laser time of 4.34 40 yesterday as a 5'11 202 pound running back which is freakish. Am I missing something?

Dexter Lawrence is now #1. Could be huge for us.
Rahshaun Smith at #18.

See this is the reason I have to watch out for TNET when

Jun 1, 2015, 12:52 PM

it comes to some of these ranked recruits. Every Clemson affiliate was saying we just picked up the #1 RB in the nation overall and then I find out that rivals had him at maybe the 3rd best and now he's like the 8th or 9th best. Which is still great and I think he'll do great things but why does TNET always over sensationalize these guys when we sign them? So here we are as Clemson fans bragging that we picked up the best RB in the nation all the while we don't know what we're talking about because our source doesn't know what they're talking about....

Call it down the line T-NET..

Ewe serious Clark?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

They put "#1 RB in the nation" because...

at least one site has him as #1. They always put the ranking in their articles of the site that has him ranked the highest.

Bet he would have been ranked higher if he had signed with Alabama, LSU, Auburn, etc.

His most recent accomplishments have not had time to be

factored in to any rankings.

The 4.34 forty time and the fact that he's apparently gained weight will boost him as the services adjust their rankings.

And certainly a banner senior season on the field will have a huge impact as well.

badge-donor-15yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

well these camps factor in alot and he apparently didn't

Jun 1, 2015, 1:55 PM

show much. I guess I'm more concerned with drive.and attitude. If you go to a camp rated as a borderline 5 star and the scouts are saying you had chances to show your worth and you never took advantage of it, then I would assume its just a bad day, hurt timid, or indifferent

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: well these camps factor in alot and he apparently didn't

Jun 1, 2015, 2:01 PM

This is the first camp he's attended this year. He was too busy with track to attend the southern camps, that is why he was in Columbus.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Exactly ... what camps has he attended?

Jun 1, 2015, 5:03 PM

Just the fact that he has not attended camps probably hurt his stock to this point.

Re: Exactly ... what camps has he attended?

That is absolutely true. It's not so much they think a kid is not as good it's more the kids they get to see in person they rate higher.

With the rankings adjustment on Rivals he is still the #2 running back, not 8 or 9. Also, Rivals is basing his entire slide on a camp he went to where he only took like 3 reps. ESPN and 24/7 have him ranked as a 5 star and the number one back in the country. No one is over hyping him - he is underrated if anything (definitely underrated on Rivals).

Did he even go to that rivals camp in Charlotte they said he didn't show out at.

Re: See this is the reason I have to watch out for TNET when

I'm not sure - I only read about him going to one camp all offseason and it said that he only took three reps there. Check out the Vine of him at the Opening camp - #### near untouchable in a two hand tag setting, broke one linebackers ankles in a ruthless way. Not sure if you can see it on the TI page....

I find the talking heads ESPN and their subs to be pretty silly. They have guys who purport to be experts in recruiting or draft status and what not and all those heads do is parrot the ESPN talking points. The talking heads read the corporate talking points. I don't think there is all that much value in any of the gibberish. I

The only thing a lot sillier than all the talkers are all the writers for Rivals, Scout, 24/7, Athlon, Sporting News and so forth who also try to sound a lot more knowledgeable than they really are.

But bringing up the very rear of the speculators on talent and value are guys like me who write on Tigernet and other boards offering our own analysis of talent and ability and ranking based on the thinnest of wisps of rumor, fact and innuendo.

WORRYING about what any of those talking, writing, bs-ing folks say about a player is a waste of time.

I say all that and I think consensus 4 and 5 star players have better odds of making an impact that most 2 and 3 star players. The best programs get 10-15 four and five star players a year. I hope we stay in that category. Feaster is clearly in that category. 'Nuff said.

Looks like he did, but how can u even come close to running drills for a running back at camps and judging off that.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Don't think so. Wasn't he at the State Track meet

Jun 1, 2015, 3:32 PM [ in reply to Re: See this is the reason I have to watch out for TNET when ]

I believe his track schedule has kept him out of these showcases. So they actually have to (gasp!) review his football film and not what he does in some underwear Olympics to judge his ability.

Re: Rivals has Feaster ranked at 80

Jun 1, 2015, 1:28 PM

He's a 5 star all the way. Expecting him to be around 210 entering as a freshman. If y'all remember the Nick Chubb pictures from high school, Feaster is going to look very similar. 202 is a great weight for him finishing his junior year in HS and he has the frame for an NFL prototype back (5'11, 215-220)

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

4.3 40-yard dash. Enough said.

Jun 1, 2015, 1:56 PM

I have just learned that as soon as someone commits to Clemson, their stock drops significantly. Happens every single year on every big recruit we nab.

By the time he starts school, he will be the best 3-star rb ever.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

TIGER BALLS.

He has another year of HSFB + 50 more Apparel camps left

Jun 1, 2015, 2:39 PM

This is how it works with these ratings sites. They move players up and down for no reason, especially before their senior season starts. It gives them something to write about now, and room to adjust later towards NSD, when everyone else starts paying attention.

The rankings will changed 4 more times by the final rankings in Jan. I mean they do still have to play their Sr. season.
