Sec alternative

Aug 3, 2021, 7:59 AM

So here is a possible alternative to counter the sec power play.. ACC and other conferences join together and decide to keep playoffs to four teams.. and limit the playoffs to conference winners only..

Then the ACC and big 10 agree to a league vs. league game where every ACC team and every big 10 play a game first game of the year.

Finally kick out wake forest and Duke and add wvu and Notre dame.

Long shot, but it contains the sec, betters the ACC, allows the ACC to force espn back to the table, and adds a good quality out of conference game.

Thoughts?

IMO, even though I hate admitting it, the SEC is a FB conference, and they have some of the best FB competition in the power 5!!!

Just as the ACC is a basketball conference with Clemson in it with a top 5 in the country FB program!!!

Wake would make sense but Duke is a premiere Basketball school. I know football moves the needle way more but it doesn’t last all year.

You would be curious if the Big10 countered this with a "southern division" inviting some ACC teams. They would have to drop the AAU requirement... but it would get them in the college football heartland and expand their footprint dramatically.
