Scholarships and NIL

There are some that think more dollars from a conference will mean more scholarships and that could not be further from the truth. Neither conference affiliation nor NIL have any bearing on scholarships. A quick look at NCAA scholarship numbers shows that numbers for women athletes are often higher than those for me.

Baseball 11.7 Softball 12
Basketball 13 15
Golf 4.5 6
Soccer 9.9 14
Tennis 4.5 8
Track 12.6 18
Lacrosse 12
Gymnastics 12
Volleyball 12

It does not matter what conference we are in, scholarship numbers are set by the NCAA and women's sports make a difference in conference affiliation.

Not sure I follow you? The women's sports' scholarships are skewed so as to even the playing field with football. There is no equivalent to football within women's college athletics.

The point is some people on TigerNet have posted that a bigger TV contract will allow us to give more scholarships and that is not true. The other point is that the ACC is a very strong conference for Women's sports and the university Presidents will not discount that when it becomes necessary to add teams.
