Scenario: WF loses to us & NCST and UNC beats NCST

Nov 11, 2021, 7:21 PM

There's a 3 way tie for the division with Clem, WF, NCST all being 6-2. I know we'd still get a divison trophy, but how do the tiebreakers work to represent our division in the Championship game? I know the first 2 are record in the division and head to head (in some order), but what's after that?

Record vs common league opponents would be after that, but for this year there won't be any. So it's the next stage... ?

I could be wrong, but I think in a 3-way tie the first elimination is record within the division. So we probably need both Wake and NC State to lose two more times because I don't think we can win a 3-way tie since the only possible losses left for Wake are Atlantic division teams and they would be eliminated first. Then, NC State holds the head to head vs. us.

If Wake wins then we need them to lose to us and then BC. If State wins, then we need them to lose to Cuse then UNC. I just don't think there is any possibility that we can win a tie breaker scenario.

Next stage is division record. We would lose to state because they have head to head. We would each have 1 division loss.

As others stated, Wake would eliminated with 2 losses

Nov 11, 2021, 8:31 PM

in the Atlantic division. NCSt and Clemson would only have 1 loss in the division. And then we would lose the head to head with NCST.

Three-Team (or More) Team Tie
(Once a team is eliminated from the tie, the tie-breaker procedures restart for the remaining teams. If the three (or more) team tie can be reduced to two teams, the two-team tiebreaker format will then be applied.)

1. Combined head-to-head win percentage among the tied teams.
2. Win percentage of the tied teams within the division.
3. Head-to-head competition versus the team within the division with the best overall (divisional and non-divisional) Conference win percentage, and proceeding through the division. Multiple ties within the division will be broken first to last, using the league’s tie-breaker policies.
4. Combined win percentage versus all common non-divisional opponents.
5. Overall win percentage versus non-divisional opponents.
6. Win percentage versus common non-divisional opponents based upon their order of finish (overall win percentage) and proceeding through other common non-divisional opponents based upon their divisional order of finish.
7. The tied team with the higher ranking by the Team Rating Score metric provided by SportSource Analytics following the conclusion of regular season games.
8. The representative shall be chosen by a draw as administered by the Commissioner or the Commissioner’s designee.

The only way be get in is beat Wake and have Wake lose one more and Nancy State lose 2 more. No other way!

Need wake to lose to us and BC and Nancy to lose to Wake and UNC. That means 3 league loses foe Nancy and a 2way with us and wake which we’d advance on head to head.

Think that’s right but beverages may be a factor

That's it. Simple Math -

Clemson - beat Wake
Wake - lose 2 Conference (1 loss to Clemson)
State - lose 2 Conference

Clemson has a 16.333% chance. I did the math, trust me.

So you're saying there's a chance??

2 way tie of Clem and NC State - NC State is in
2 way tie of Clem and Wake - Clem is in
