He is just practicing for when he feels he is ready to go on his own. I believe Chad to be a pretty smart man. So I wouldn't think he really feels he is ready after two seasons with a big school. I don't think he could put together a staff to win with, with only two years at a BCS school. He would only be able to hire a OC/DC that was without a job. Chad hasn't proved he can beat teams with Good defenses yet. I'm not worried about him going to a Head Coaching job in the SEC at a school like Auburn. H&lllllll NO!!!

Yall know how it works , state schools have to list the job opening to all. They have to interview so many plus minorities so after they make a hire , they dont get labeled as have discriminated anyone .
Its a favor from school to school .

a chance to boost your annual income by $1 million is hard to turn down. If Chad does leave for a bigger payday, remember he is not a Clemson graduate and he is not from South Carolina. Yes, Dabo gave him a chance, but a few years at CU does not make him a Tiger for life. With the money Dabo is throwing at assistant coaches, he will attract another top OC. If anything is going on, I think Dabo has figured out a way to compensate for his lack of play calling skills, hire the most expensive assistant coaches available and turn it over to them while Dabo focuses on recruiting, alumni realtions, and cheerleading. I mean no disrespect to Dabo; it appears to be working for him. Back-to-back 10 wins seasons is pretty good, now lets beat the gamecocks.

Leaving for a $1M salary increase is awfully short-sighted. The man can have 1 losing season and be out of a job period, or he could stay here and pull in $1M+ in perpetuity.

You're right, but I doubt top coaches think they will lose.

Like gamblers, they all excpect to win. Even Ellis Johnson, with all of his HC failures, expected to win and look at him now. I bet alot of coaches wished they had stayed at lesser schools (not Clemson) collected good pay checks for life rather than taking a bigger pay check for a year or two at a bigger, more demanding school.

Sources tell me that #Clemson OC Chad Morris is not interested in the head coaching job at Auburn. Sources tell me that #Clemson OC Chad Morris is not interested in the head coaching job at Auburn.
He also said he had a text message from Morris that said I am in Clemson today and not in Auburn

My guess is about a million more dollars in the bank account might, just might, be a strong motive. What do you think?

take interviews a few years prior to taking the dive. WHen the right job comes along he has been through the process a few times. Another is just the fact that it gets his name stirring in the field. If he never interviewed some would assume he is happy just being a OC. I would definately say this is a sign that he wats to head coach but not necessarily now.
He knows he would have difficulty putting a staff together.
There's my 2 cents worth.
