Satellite Camps: I think the NCAA is making a good decision

Apr 28, 2016, 3:49 PM

for once on changing their mind on making satellite camps illegal.

I mean there is no legitimate reason to outlaw them. The fact that the big and powerful SEC doesn't like these camps in SEC country isn't a legitimate reason to outlaw them.

I appreciate your opinion. However, It's just another instance where Harbaugh pitches a temper tantrum and calls Obama and he, the brilliant statesman he is....(hahahahahahahahaha!)has HIS justice department an "investigation" into these poor, disenfranchised kids civil rights being violated. We've gat way bigger problems to fight as a country. The NCAA was right to clip Harbaugh's wings, now he's untouchable...he'll be sleeping in the same bed as recruits asking to see their "pee-pees" on the next round of recruiting while calling all southern recruits and claiming to be KKK members. Nothing is beneath this dangerous man.

I total agreed with you harbaugh is a big baby when things don't go his way.

To counter the congress getting involved the SEC has lifted a ban on satellite camps. The negative thing from all of this is that it is going to drive recruiting cost up in a time when even Clemson is searching for new revenue sources for athletics.

IMO the ones hurt the most by all of this are the non revenue producing sports. Football cannot carry the entire athletic budget. Those athletes who play golf, tennis, lacrosse, soccer, they are the real losers.

harbaugh has started a war between conferences and schools that will cost millions of dollars. harbaugh is bad for college football and Michigan shows they are willing to win at all cost. Their students and alumni better be ready to cough up a lot of $$$$$$$.

But what legitimate reason is there to outlaw these camps?

The SEC doesn't want them them in SEC country?

They aren't needed....

With Michigan and other Bluebloods having unlimited financial resources, they are already able to have a national recruiting stance. The idea that these camps "are the only way these poor kids can get seen" is just preposterous. With social media and all of the tools kids and high schools have to get their name out there these camps are the schools of the frozen, rust belt to invade the sunny south. If you don't believe me, why did Michigan have spring practice at "Ann Arbor South" IMG Academy? The compromise that is being talked about is that these camps will be allowed as long as no power 5 school will participate in the recruiting camps. If Harbaugh is really as benevolent as he wants to appear, he will gladly host a camp for the smaller schools to showcase the poor student athlete and stick to his underhanded tactics in dark, gloomy frozen Michigan.

I say we have our spring camp in Hawaii next year!

Apr 28, 2016, 4:04 PM

I bet we sell a few recruits on early enrolling with that!

The issue i have is that they CANT make a decision.

Apr 28, 2016, 4:07 PM

Satellite Camps, UNC, Texting Athletes, Stipends. They are scared to make a decision and stand behind it because they're terrified of upsetting anyone that might affect their revenue stream 0.0000005%

Simply limit the total number of camps that a Coaching Staff

Apr 28, 2016, 5:31 PM

Can participate in.

Say limit it to six camps and hold them where ever.
