He needs solid experienced players fast, and the portal provides that. Will be interesting to see if it’s successful and how it impacts their ability to recruit upper tier HS kids in the immediate future. Could decide whether more programs adapt this model.

It’s a brave new world in college football.

flip what? 90% of that roster he inherited? If this was the pre-transfer era, he'd be stuck in a 3+ year build just to get enough decent talent on the roster to compete. I think the "50/50" approach would shift once he gets 2 years under his belt but for the purposes of right now? He's gotta start somewhere, and fast. A quick look at their schedule says it all. 5 wins would be an incredible accomplishment because they have:

AT TCU, Nebraska, Colorado State, AT Oregon, USC, AT ASU, Stanford, Bye week, AT UCLA, Oregon St, Arizona, AT Washington State, AT Utah.

getting to 4 wins or more will be a challenge.

DS wants them already coached up so he can appear to know what he is doing...he just moved to Colorado for free pot...they will still arrest him in Miss.!
