Safety - Best Line in the Movie?

Dec 11, 2020, 10:00 PM

Ray Ray: "Why are doing this coach?"

Dabo-Inspired Character: "Because of the shirt you are wearing."

I love Clemson University and I love you all.

Because of the shirt you are wearing.

GO TIGERS!

That was the line of the movie.

I love how they made Bowden into a tough guy and not one single stutter.

Ray Ray was a DB & RB.

Dabo was a WR coach.

Yes. I know. That coach made the comment about his mother sleeping on a cot in his apartment so they were using Dabo’s story, but the reality is Dabo did not coach Ray Ray at Clemson. Dabo’s didn’t make that statement to Ray Ray in real life. That coach in the movie was not playing Dabo.

In movies based on a real story they often take multiple people and create a character that is a composite of those people for dramatic affect. It’s called artistic license. Just because someone uses a quote from real life it doesn’t mean they’re actually playing that person or character.

I believe the character is based on Dabo.

They used something from Dabo’s life for dramatic effect. It’s called a composite character. The movie isn’t real. It’s based on a true story. There’s a very big difference. There’s a lot in that movie that did not happen in real life. Do you think the whole team and coaches went before the NCAA? Do you think Ray Ray dated a girl from the bookstore? Half of the stuff in that movie never happened. That’s why it’s called based on a true story. Because the whole thing is not what really happened but a dramatic re-creation.

Lol yes mother

FYI I’m completely chill just pointing out some obvious reality to the swooning Dabo fan boys.

The fictional coach’s wife’s name is also “Kathleen.” While Dabo may not have coached Ray Ray, and perhaps he never hardly talked to Ray Ray, that character was totally based on Dabo. It was painfully obvious at times.
