The ACC effect. The SEC effect.

Sep 24, 2022, 9:39 PM

Let's see how the rankings shake out.

Clemson and Wake played what would be called an "instant classic" if were in the Big 10 or SEC. Will pollsters see it though as a couple of teams that couldn't stop the other and "dig" both teams for it?

Texas A&M can lose to a SBC team AT HOME and remain ranked!
!
Georgia was struggling with Kent St - AT HOME! CU was away at a ranked opponent who also had the most experienced OL in CFB. My question: "would Clemson get a pass for struggling with Kent ST"?

BTW, Duke lost ooc and Miami lost to a CUSA team. But, Cuse is undefeated. Duke only has the 1 loss and they lost to an undefeated Kansas. FSU looks good.

SCAR is struggling at the moment with "club lit" Charlotte. They'll get a pass! Arkansas vs. A&M - looking to be a good game.

The double standard and narrative when ACC schools lose is always about being Weak. But, shhh INdiana lost OOC to a MAC team and nobody is raising an eyebrow! Missouri seems to be a hot mess.

Whatever, i'm sleepy! LOL!

If anything Wake should move up in the rankings. I remember back in the 90’s, Colorado State was #24 and lost by 3 at #3 Colorado. CSU fell out of the rankings. From that moment on I’ve never understood why a team barely losing to a top 5 team falling out.

Clemson doesn't care about basketball....as evidenced by Brown-L getting 14 years.

Wake is better than their current rank.***

Sadly it's the media perception that drives the narrative....***

But will Texas use this strategy to move up again after losing to Texas Tech today? ( TTU whose only loss is to nc state btw).

Blowhards are going to blow hard. The ACC just needs to do better against their better OOC competition, and do so more consistently. Off the top of my head, Clemson is the only team that has performed consistently well in those games in recent history. I cannot think of another ACC team who has beat consistently OOC teams perceived to be better teams. This won't stop the blowhards, but would make it easier for casual fans to see any inconsistencies in how the media covers the various conferences.

Sometimes the road to the truth is so elusive it's confusing and reality becomes illusion.

Mich struggled with an unranked MD at home; OU struggling with an unranked K State at home; we beat a ranked WF at their place, missing 4 starters on defense.

By the ‘poll voters logic’, we should be ahead of them both, but we shall see, right?

Whatever choice(s) you make makes you. Choose wisely.

Exactly!

That's what I mean. They find every excuse under the sun to defend poor performance by Big 10 and SEC teams. And only the folks who don't pay close enough attention buy the whole: "the whole SEC and the whole Big 10 is a gauntlet point of view"! It's faker than big booties in Rio De Janiero.

FSU is handling business. Syracuse is undefeated. Wake has beaten a gauntlet SEC team(at least when they are playing other SEC teams VAndy is part of the gauntlet).

No Makuba, Tre Williams, XT or Sheridan Jones.

BTW, Kent State wasn't a good MAC team(1-3 now). At home. I doubt you see all the dirt piling on for Georgia. It will be dismissed as them looking past Kent St. LOL! It's comical how non-transparent it is and I SMH at people who buy it hook, line and sinker as Gospel truth. It should be the same rule for anyone struggling with a "so called" lesser opponent, I would think!

Oh well!

If I were a betting man…

I’d bet Clemson drops 3 to 5 spots and Wake falls out of the top 25. The good thing is this poll irrelevant. Not sure why it’s even published now.

The envy and love for the SEC on this site is pathetic.

Kentucky Escapes N.Illinoia 31-23

Sep 24, 2022, 11:39 PM

Could FSU, Miami, Wake, Nancy survive a poor showing like that at home against a average MAC team and keep it's lofty ranking?

Doubt it!

Observations on how voters tend to vote isn't envy, period! It's especially aggravating because it's supposedly unbiased. That's all people are saying! Nothing more - it's other sec lovers and groupies who add extra!

4th Qtr. Southern Cal Struggling with OSU

Sep 25, 2022, 12:05 AM

10-7 Trojans lead in the 4th qtr. The Beavers are much improved; but they have anointed the Trojans as being back because of Lincoln Riley and Caleb Williams being on campus.

My point - to the people who aren't following fully is - "will they be penalized for struggling"? I'ms saying, "they won't"! And, it only has to do with the patch on their jersey - or rather in this case "their historical significance"!

Florida and Arkansas

Are two to watch and see what happens that are a seemingly better comparison.

I don’t personally have a problem with UGA not waxing Kent State. They won. I say the same for us. In reality, our spread was 7/7.5 (correct me if I’m wrong) and we won by 6. The 2 pt conversion was the difference. I know spreads are for betting and not necessarily a true indication of what should/will happen. We won by almost exactly what we “should” have.

It’s hard to win every game, we know this from experience. And sometimes a team, even Clemson, can lose and still go on to win it all.
