Road losses aren't that bad

Feb 12, 2014, 9:20 AM

After that "horrible" loss to ND that "ended our NCAA chances" last night our RPI only dropped 5 spots.

Again, losing on the road doesn't hurt you that much. If this would have been a home loss, it would have been a completely different story (we'd probably have dropped around 12 spots instead of 5). We still probably need to get to 21 wins, and with 5 of the last 7 at home, we still have plenty of chances to get there.

ND is awful, they are missing their best player. We need to go to the NIT.

it just gives us little wiggle room

probably will need an upset now

yep that is what I thought.

Of course if this team is worth of post season we should be able to get an upset

When your a "bubble" team at best ,any loss, road or home is bad.

Road losses aren't that bad if you were picked to finish 14t

14th. Low expectations - That's why losing to a bad ND team on the road doesn't seem that bad to many of us.

Granted, road losses are more understandable and easier to accept than losses at home, especially for a young team. But, if you have high expectations for your team, then any loss is bad, and a loss to a bad team is worse.

I'll be happy when we get to a point where we have higher expectations for our basketball program, and games like this can be a bitter disappointment.

The loss last night could be worse than many Tigernetters

are willing to admit. It may not have been a bitter loss to them, but I think the team and coaching staff see it differently. Regardless of your expectations prior to the season, given the realities of the two teams to date, this was a game we should have won and needed to win for our post season hopes. With Syracuse and Pitt sandwiched around the Notre Dame game, it made a win even more important to avoid a possible 3 game losing streak

The key will be how we handle it and recover.
