Taking my teenage daughter to Clemson for a summer break mini-vacation. Any suggestions for a nice dinner spot? I’ll take your answers off the air. Thanks.

Rick Erwin’s is phenomenal. If you want to spend a little less, Calhoun Corners is awesome as well. If you’re looking for bbq type fare, Smokin’ Pig in sandy springs.

at Walker Golf Course - Clemson Campus. It is a great spot for drinks - inside or out - at the bar or for dinner. Food is great - Atmosphere is great - overlooks the golf course. We go there every time we are in Clemson.

RustyFoot?

The moniker given to me by a Methodist Minister! As a four year old playing all day in Southern Red Clay will make your feet look “Rusty”
My Dad carried that forward for 50 years?

I bet you had some tough feet, and a lot of bumps, and bruises as a kid playing on red clay. It's hard as a brick when dry, and slick as an eel when wet!!!

The grill at Clemson marina. It has great teenager food! And open air atmosphere on the lake.

We are renting a pontoon boat from the marina so definitely will catch a meal there too!

Shrimp tacos are pretty good. They had a great IPA on tap last week, can’t remember the name of it, but it was on point. Cheers.

I was thinking the same thing about the marina (the teenage part made me think twice).
And I can't ever resist the plug for Vangeli's in next-door Seneca. That's some of the best food I've eaten in the state and it's right on Ram Cat Alley. Live music out on the street (they close it down) on Thursdays, it's just a blast.
Probably doesn't help your situation, but still. Enjoy Clemson!

Try waffle house, decent steak, eggs, and toast with strawberry, and grape jelly on both pieces, front and back!!!
My wife is fixing me a Philly steak and cheese tonight, and she makes the best Philly steak and cheese I've every eaten from anywhere, seriously, but I'm not sharing !!!

It got *****.
I graduated in 2009 and boy has the food scene changed so much.
You got tons of cool options to choose from. I woulda liked ramen and poke restaurants to explore back in the day.
I enjoyed Sardi’s Den when I was a student. Don’t know how they are nowadays, but man they sure did have some good ribs.

Chanelo’s pizza downtown and the hot dog place in the basement across the street. Then go to the game room and play some pinball or pool and lose $100 in a poker machine. Then on to TTT for $2.00 pitchers of Natty. Then off to Nicks for some fried mushrooms. By then you should bd good. WAIT. I graduated in 1984. You can stop by snd see the first Natty we won in 1981.

I have a half bushel in my Turkey cooker right now, and another half bushel to cook when those are done. Why so many at one time?
When they cool off, my wife will vacuum seal them, put them in the freezer, and we can have boiled peanuts when ever we want them until we boil more about this time next summer.
When ever we want boiled peanuts, we will put a bag in a pot of boiling water with 2 table spoons of salt, boil for about 15-20 minutes, honestly, they are about as good as when I finish boiling the bushel today.
Some good advice, don't try this with one of those cheap vacuum seal machines, the cheap machines just don't have the vacuum power to suck all the air from bulky packages like boiled peanut. Plus, if you use the cheaper seal a meal machines, they don't have enough vacuum power for sealing bulky foods, and it will have ice shivers on what ever you have sealed, and that takes away the freshness that you want when you're ready to heat and eat!!!!
