Remember back when the Saxophone was considered a cool instrument?

Oct 20, 2021, 3:31 PM

Now nobody would be caught dead with one..

Anyway, this is how I think about UGA football, like a saxophone. It was pretty cool for a while there, but people eventually lost interest.

It's also a woodwind that wants to be brass. Like a pretender who want to be legit. UGA.

I have met very few saxophone players that had successful careers, it was more of a side job, or something one did on a street corner for tips.

This is another thing it has in common with UGA football.

I am a saxophone player and I have had a pretty successful 28 year career as an engineer. I think the secret is the fact that my sax-coolness still oozes from my pores in spite of my nerdy engineerness and the fact that I haven't played my sax in years. Make no mistake, I am still a playah.

The Kenny G of college football. One hit wonder, a moment in time.

Clarence Clemons maybe. Boots Randolph. Those are the only 2 I can think of. Didn't Kenny G play that strange looking clarinet thing. Maybe he blew a sax too.

You are soooo uncool. That is a soprano sax.

Kenny G has had 14 #1 jazz albums all since 1980. UGA is more like the Christopher Hollyday of college football (you’re right to say who!?!).

Why do dogs always race to the door when the doorbell rings? It's almost never for them.

Thank goodness very few hot girls play saxophone.

Heck yeah brother. IMO it still is. Bobby Keys was one of the all timers! Check out his documentary Mr Saturday Night. Bada$$. Keith Richards called him my brother from another mother. Coltrane, Parker, Getz, Rollins, etc. True artists.

Bite your tongue! Without a sax, we never would have had sure landmark rock hits as "Urgent" by Foreigner, "Freeway of Love" by Aretha Franklin, or "Let me Clear My Throat" by DJ Cool!

Y'all suck. Saxes and the people who play them are totes cool. We'll just leave it at that because I am way too cool to try to convince y'all how cool I am. But yeah, UGA ain't cool. Never was.
