Red Parker's book

Sep 30, 2021, 11:44 AM

This is pretty interesting. I just ran across this a few minutes ago. Several pages from Red Parker's book .I love history and Clemson football history is no exception particularly when this was around the time I started going to Clemson games. My brother's first game was the Clemson / North Carolina game in 74 and he started at Clemson in 75 .He got us tickets for the home opener against Tulane in 75 and that was my first game at age 8 .

Thank you sharing. I always liked Parker, but he certainly got shafted by a few people and didn’t deserve it.

Looking back I think Parker had a positive effect on the program going forward he didn't get credit for . Just interesting Clemson Football history and it takes me back to the 70s and what was about to become a great time in Clemson Football.Hope everyone will glance at the pages and there are some great pictures of mid 70s Tigers as you scroll down a little way !

Thanks. I read the Clemson years. I remember a good deal of it. Unfortunately for Red, it just didn't go too well here. But he did recruit some great players.

I was 9 in 76 but if I remember correctly the expectations for that season were pretty high and then things getting a bit ugly as the season wore on .The game I remember most from that season was the Duke game at home where Duke kicked a last second and then ACC record field goal to tie the game.I was at that game and I remember being in shock at the end .The Duke fans acted like they had won the Superbowl .I guess a tie was good by them. lol
