Recruiting Updates

We are allegedly gaining ground with 5-Star CB Saivion Smith for IMG Academy who came for Junior Day. This will be a tough battle with the Noles. We are currently the presumed favorite of fellow 5-Star teammate Rahshaun Smith (DE), and have secured a commitment from teammate T.J. Chase (4-Star WR).
We are the odds-on favorite to land 4-Star DT Nyles Pinckney of Whale Branch. We have been gaining momentum recently.
We don't appear to be recruiting Bryan Edwards, the WR from Conway. Looks like he will go to the Coots, as will DE Javon Kinlaw from Goose Creek. Neither are considered elite players.
Our most likely take at WR is Diondre Overton from Greensboro, NC, who with 6'5" height would play a role similar to Martavis Bryant.
We still appear to be the likeliest candidate to land 4-Star OL Parker Boudreaux from Florida.

Kinlaw is listed as a DE by Rivals and a OT by ESPN. I am not sure but I can imagine that might take a role in which school he signs with according to what position he wants to play.

Kinlaw is rated at 96 and ranked as #20 of 247's top 247 of all 2016 recruits. At 6'7" and 285....I'd say that's pretty elite. Would love to have that guy....he makes Clowney look like a cornerback.

He isn't elite, good but not elite. He has tremendous size and has decent hands and ok leverage. However, he doesn't maximize on his talents and doesn't seem nasty enough to play DL in college. Reminds me of a taller sterling johnson. I think he is a high 3 star (rivals) as a DE and a low to medium 4star if he were to be looked at as an OT.

I've heard we're more than gaining ground with Saivion. He really likes Clemson and his dad does as well. Not sure if he has a true leader as of yet but if he did we'd have as good a chance as anybody.

I watched Kinlaw in games against Berkeley and Stratford ...he is in no way " ELITE " . He is borderline 4* material because of his measurables , but he is not a guy who just jumps of the page. He is big , I give him the necessary credit there ...built very sturdily. Reminds me a lot of Barry Richardson build-wise.

Looks like a few recruits earned invites to JD next month with their Adidas performance. Hooker the LB from nc and korey banks a DB with great size and speed. Late bloomers
