Recruiting 17-18 yr olds has always been challenging .......

Mar 28, 2021, 5:57 PM

but the Walker situation is curious to say the least. Who knows what happened. He said that he took the "self-guided" tour at UGA and that was impressive - OK - maybe that was it - LOL.

Seriously, UGA has probably had more LBs in the NFL than us but outside of Roquan Davis none really comes to mind as outstanding. We have 9 LBs on the depth chart but we will lose 2-3 next year and maybe one or two after the spring. There will be room, especially if he's that good.

Just hard to figure this one out - kid paid his own way to the ACC championship game and appeared to be all in until recently. Again, who knows but I wonder if something's going on with Coach V that the UGA staff honed in on? We have been told that he was ready to take the Auburn job and his leaving is just a matter of time. Combine that with the fact that he's been virtually MIA since the Sugar Bowl and maybe that was it. Only thing that really makes any sense especially when you look at and realize that we have zero defensive recruits so far, early I know but curious.

Negative recruiting happens we all know that. Perhaps that was the case here.

Lastly, great DL's win championships, not LBs. Who were our LBs in 2016 and 2018? Exactly, solid but the strength was upfront. That SHOULD be the same this year and next. Personally, I will be much more worried about us long term if we miss out on the 5star DL from NC. Like Big Dex, CW, Breese, Murphy - he's the one that's most important.

Just my opinion of course!

What you said sounds plausible to me.***

exactly my point - that was 16 years ago with nothing to do with their current staff.

Maybe it's the KirbyCopter......LOL

How could he not be impressed? Watching a 3rd rate UGA defense hold a second rate Gator offense to only 44 pts.

You may be on to something re: Coach V. His prolonged radio silence just seems strange. Just saying.

The SEC writes monetary checks that the NCAA does not look very hard for. When they do find them, it's a double wrist slap. See USuC.
